Games that have been updated by developers to take advantage of the new Xbox One X can display in native 4K with HDR on capable TVs. They may also have more consistently high framerates and improved textures, and all games will see improved load times. What does that really mean though for the current crop of sports games? And does any of that matter enough to justify the high $500 price?  (more…)...

The release of the third entry in the EA Sports UFC franchise is nearing and today the first look at the game was provided with its debut trailer, some feature news, and release details. The series comes off the sequel which improved on the weaknesses of its predecessor and delivered more content to be enjoyed along with a focus more on satisfying MMA fans rather than attempting to capture a general audience that would never have any interest in the game. EA Sports UFC 3 features Conor...

Not much has been heard on Tennis World Tour since the original announcement of its existence back in May but that changed today with the debut of its first trailer out of Paris Games Week. A release window of spring has now been revealed for the simulation game, pinning it between late March and late June. The trailer provides the very first look at the game but doesn't offer much of substance besides the inclusion of Roger Federer and Gaël Monfils, who were among the names already...

This update brings another 45 players to the roster taking the total added post-release to 128. Between this DLC and the full roster unlock the price to have the compl...
  • Complete game played in NBA 2K18 MyLeague

Though only hours remain until release there will likely be few (if any) reviews ready to go live for NBA 2K18 right at launch. Between a shortage of time to dig into arguably the deepest sports game ever made, and a need to assess server performance given that many of the features rely on being connected online, my review for instance will probably be complete on Monday instead. With that in mind, and having spent time between MyGM and MyCareer primarily up until this point, I figured it...

2K Sports has been somewhat more generous with information and media for NBA 2K18 than recent series editions in particular last year. With The Prelude set to go out Friday a handful of pure gameplay videos have been released through various Youtube accounts. These feature a variety of teams including all-time and classic along with a look at MyCareer. (more…)...

The Journey story mode, played by over 12 million people last year, naturally received a strong push for its sequel in FIFA 18 earlier at EA Play and it's getting another now. A large cast of soccer greats cameo or play larger roles as Alex Hunter experiences the challenges that now come with being a star. Those names include FIFA 18's cover athlete Cristiano Ronaldo and even crossing over is the cover athlete for NBA Live 18 James Harden.  (more…)...
