Earlier this week the first opportunity to see MLB 13: The Show in action slipped out. Reaction was mostly positive except as it relates to the commentary as the faults stood out even more against the backdrop of the Playoffs where the magnitude of each event is dramatically increased. Now additional videos are available to watch and evaluate with segments of gameplay featuring the White Sox at Cubs, Royals at Phillies, Angels at Tigers, and Angels at Nationals. The third episode of the Press Row Hangout features the duo of myself and Rich Grisham of GamesRadar. Ideally the shows will offer three or more contributors going forward but it was just unable to come together this week. Topics discussed include the possibility of game prices going up with the next generation, MLB 13: The Show info and lack thereof for MLB 2K13, the choice made by both to go without demos, the never-ending NCAA Football 14 cover vote process, and more thoughts on the PS4. ...

The first gameplay video for MLB 13: The Show has arrived and again it comes courtesy of CJohnson403 on Twitter. It features a NLDS game with the Braves at Nationals in Postseason mode. Though the footage is off-screen it is pretty good quality but keep in mind the audio enhancements, key to the Postseason mode, may be more difficult to discern. The special presentation though is on full display. Continue on for the video and leave any thoughts in the comments!  (more…)...

Though 2K Sports continues to actively hide MLB 2K13 for all those interested in learning anything about the game, the one sure thing that was to arrive prior to release was an official trailer. There is nothing new to be gleaned from it unfortunately as it contains just the typical flashy replay footage, with the exception of spotting that they at least got the Astros their new uniforms, but it's something anyway.  (more…)...

SCEA has released a new developer video for MLB 13: The Show this time focusing on the introduction of The Show Live. The new feature delivers the ability to play any game on the schedule for the 2013 season with MLB.com feeding the proper lineups and statistics. The presentation and commentary will reflect that point in time. The concept is not new - having been featured in the NBA Live, NBA 2K, and MLB 2K franchises - but arguably could be best suited for baseball if supported properly ...
