Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 Of note, there are no practices or evening events after the final regular season game. So there is no improving ratings between that point and any conference championship or bowl game. Continue on for a recap of the Gator Bowl and an early look at the start of the next season! Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 Padre decided to try another practice. He had much more success this time. A pass deflection took it from 41 points down to 38. He intercepted a pass and took it back for a TD which dropped the points needed to 24. A big hit on a tackle and it was down to 20. He got a +1 boost in several categories. So while I stated before its tough to make plays as a DB in practice, at least this time I had some success. I've been meaning to mention how ...

It seems that if you sim practice you don't get any credit for them. Padre is still 41 "points" behind the next guy on the depth chart. Been stuck there the whole season. I went in and played four practices. Through 40 plays, I was only able to make one tackle. That is the one that took me from 45 points back to 41 points back. As a CB it is really tough to do anything in the practices. I'm going to try a few more before the set of games following this update and we'll see how that goes. I'v...

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 One question I've seen around is pertaining to the quarter length in Campus Legend. Well, you probably don't want to go any longer than 5 minute quarters. In the mode, the clock doesn't run during play selection. So for example, lets say a play ends with 1:59 on the clock. It then goes to the play screen where you OK it to continue. Then it goes back to the field where it is 1:59 as the teams break the huddle. I noted a few long drives and the time it took ...

Part 1 - Part 2 With the opportunity of playing for the State Championship looming, Padre knew he had to step up his play. He did just that on the first play of the game by getting his first INT of the High School tournament. However after that things didn't go quite as planned. I had actually wondered if they had made it so your school advances to at least the Championship game. Well I know now, as Padre High fell to Tukwila 10-7. Continue on for some video clips from the game and the fir...

Part 1 Originally my plan was that my next Campus Legend update would recap the rest of the High School experience. Once I played the very next game though I saw some cool things that I wanted to put in a new highlight video which you can find at the end of this write-up. I hope to cover the rest of High School and the start of the college experience with the next posting, which could come as early as Saturday evening but definitely by Sunday morning. Padre High took on Federal Way in the ...
  • NCAA Football 08 mid-air collisions

I figured another aspect of NCAA that would be easy enough to show off from the demo would be the mid-air collisions. I went ahead and captured a few in the video below. No longer can a receiver leap to make a catch without worry of getting hit while in the air and having the ball jarred loose while also risking possible injury. ...
  • End to “Mario running” in NCAA Football?

A common complaint over the years has been the so-called "Mario running", where a back gets stuck behind lineman and runs in place. This is something that has been addressed by EA for this year and I captured a nice example of the improvement that has been made in this area. In the clip you'll see the ball carrier hit the back of the lineman stopping his momentum and knocking him back. He then starts up again heading through the hole that the line has opened up. I've seen plenty of examples si...
