Night six of NBA Live 08 OTP is in the books and it was one of the better all around nights so far. Both games were very competitive and using the lower ranked matchup and international teams seemed to pay off. The first game we had three vs four and the second game was a full five on five. Following the next roster update we'll do some games with the teams that made acquisitions (Cleveland vs Dallas sounds good) and probably another international game since this one turned out so well. A...

A while back SCEA released a trailer (in the mold of a tutorial) for the Road to the Show 2.0 mode in MLB 08. Now there is a new video available that shows off some other elements of the mode with more actual gameplay footage from the individual camera perspective. There is no narration in this video as it breezes by aspects such as the CAP, advancement goals, base coach signs, and stats pages along with the gameplay. This is the most anticipated aspect of the game for me. As I've ment...

It was an interesting night of OTP with the new roster update plus some different developments. That led into a really entertaining dunk contest at All-Star Saturday Night which I was glad that I didn't pass up watching. The first real problem participant was involved and it took two attempts at games to figure out who it was. He was calling timeout after timeout prompting technical fouls and was intentionally fouling on defense. That is why I've suggested there needs to be a way to boot ...

Here are two more full three inning games from the MLB 08: The Show demo. The pitching view has been switched in these with the the first being from "Outfield" and the second set as "Pitcher". If you missed my initial impressions and game video you can find that here. So far the only disappointing things I have found from playing the demo is that players walk/run/slide right through each other (no collision detection) and that the HR camera tends to lose the ball. I also had an instance w...

The demo for MLB 08: The Show was released for the PS3 earlier today. After having gotten to play through it a few times I'm already confident in saying that this has the potential to be the best baseball game to date. That comes from someone who still looks back at MVP 05 as still holding that title. The demo features the Colorado Rockies @ Boston Red Sox with Jeff Francis and Josh Beckett on the mound. It loads into the start of the game bypassing the main menu. Go to the pause menu to ...

MLB 2K8 producer Ben Brinkman was a guest on G4's X-Play earlier today. A few of the topics discussed in the interview are the signature stances and walk-ups, roster updates, and the trading card system. Gameplay footage rolls throughout in the background. I went ahead and captured the video from the show. Continue on to watch the full segment which is just under 4 minutes long. (more…)...

There was only one game on night four of NBA Live 08 OTP which had the Chicago Bulls @ LA Clippers. It turned out to be one of the cleanest played games thus far even though one side was in control the entire way throughout. Where some of the earlier games had a frantic pace and predominantly centered on quick scores and easy baskets, this one had a more controlled pace and came down to half court offense and rebounding. The rebounding discrepancy tells the story of the game. Chris Kama...

IGN has posted up a preview and four gameplay videos from NBA Ballers: Chosen One. The preview goes into detail on the topics below among others. -Oddly enough Midway thinks of Ballers not so much as a sports game, but more like a sports game built around fighting game mechanics. -Midway is also implementing a super move system that bestows ungodly abilities to both the 80+ NBA stars (including 15 legends) and your created baller. -The story mode is centered on custom-made television ...
