At a recent Gamestop convention there were some game previews shown for upcoming titles. One of them, as introduced by EA Sports president Peter Moore, being Fight Night Round 4. In the US the Fight Night franchise has become the biggest seller and most sure thing for EA Sports behind Madden. The footage is pretty impressive especially considering the game is still about six months off from release. Continue on to view the video of the game in action along with voice over description of s...

Once I get more time in with Facebreaker I'll post up my full impressions but I wanted to get up some highlight clips for everyone to check out. The game includes the ability to upload the videos to the EA Sports World website. You can do this when playing with any of the characters including your created ones. Unfortunately this option isn't available for online matches. After the fight is over you have the opportunity to check out the available replays. It lists a set of different event...

After a day of the NBA Live 09 demo being out for the 360 it looks like in general it has been well received. I've come across issues that are still apparent or marginally improved from when I last played the game but I'll be saving those thoughts for a full write-up this weekend. I really would've liked if they had included some elements of the NBA Academy because outside of 365 and Player DNA elements that are being prominently displayed through the demo it is tough to get a handle on the ...
  • More on NBA Live 09 Rewind

Coming out of the community event I was in the minority when it came to the opinion of the Rewind feature in NBA Live 09. I felt that outside of the prospect of having the daily roster updates which is how 365 will likely be viewed by the masses, that Rewind had the potential for the most wide ranging appeal. Being able to replay any actual game from last season or the upcoming one with the accurate rosters, ratings, and tendencies from that very game is intriguing. I was only disappointed t...
  • Quick Tiger Woods 09 Online Play Thoughts

While I don't yet have the 360 version of Tiger 09 I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the Wii version included the new spin to online with simultaneous play. It just seemed like a feature that would've gotten overlooked as some others have in previous games for the console. I got a chance to play through some and have included a video to show what it looks like. You'll notice I haven't been able to to grasp putting well yet but I wanted to get a demonstration up anyway. This is ...
  • Tiger Woods 09 Wii Tutorial

Even through it has only been a short time I've spent with Tiger 09 for the Wii I've been quite impressed with it. From the full feature set including the simultaneous online play to the control response which feels as close to 1:1 as anything the Wii has offered they seem to have delivered a very solid and fun experience. This could actually be the first time I've preferred a Wii version over the 360/PS3 version. There is the balance between the motion controls and mini-games for the Wii ag...

The game running away with the most anticipated for September poll now has a its demo available for the PS3 and the 360 will likely receive it next week. The demo features the 3rd period of Play Now or Be A Pro with the Penguins @ Red Wings. It also includes a few basic tutorials (shooting, skating, defense). In a pleasant surprise there are a few settings that can be changed. The difficulty level can be set to either Pro or All-Star and the cameras can be set to Ice, Classic, Overhead, B...

A new video of NBA Live 09 in action from Microsoft's recent X08 event has been posted on Youtube. While it isn't the greatest quality it would arguably be the best representation currently available of how the game plays. No, it isn't highlight footage cut together that makes it appear you can score at will on offense as many have griped about. Continue on to view the video which features Oklahoma City @ Toronto and runs for nearly five minutes. (more…)...
