    Warner Bros. today announced detailed plans for the release of The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Download, and Video-On-Demand on December 4.     The Dark Knight Rises is projected to have made $161 million in its first weekend which brings the film in slightly below its original projections but still makes it the third biggest opening in history. The effect of the tragic theater shooting in Aurora may have had some impact on audience drive to see the film immediately.     Warner Bros has announced that the third trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is set to play in front of The Avengers when it opens on May 4. That a trailer for a DC Comics property is attached to a Marvel film actually isn't unprecedented - The Dark Knight had a trailer in front of Iron Man in 2008.
