Review: Easy A
Easy A looks to borrow some of its formula and charm from the popular teen comedies of the 80's while acknowledging and attempting to avoid some of the cliches. In some sense the film is successful, with likable characters though many that fall into the high school stereotypes, and a story that feels fresh even though it is largely predictable. Easy A is not a great film and it has its share of cringe-worthy moments but it remains mostly enjoyable. (more…)...

Review – Tron: Legacy
As a sequel to the 1982 film, marketing as of late has downplayed the "Legacy" portion of the Tron: Legacy title in ads. The original also has not been re-released on DVD or gotten a Blu-ray release. Clearly this is because Disney feels that the original could potentially turn off viewers from wanting to see the sequel. Review: The Green Hornet
The Green Hornet, an update to the short-lived television series from the 60's, has faced a great deal of scrutiny throughout development. From questions regarding the script by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, to the decision for Rogen to star, and even some bad buzz and a delay attributed to 3D conversion, the project has been largely doubted. In an attempt to throw off investigators that are following her in search of her lover that has gone into hiding, Elise (Angelina Jolie) spots Frank (Johnny Depp) on a train ride and uses him as a diversion. The Next Three Days is flying somewhat under the radar for upcoming the holiday movie season however it is a film that should not be overlooked. An expertly blended drama and thriller it centers on a man coping with his wife having been arrested and convicted for a murder she did not commit. Review: Unstoppable
Unstoppable is based on the true story of a runaway unmanned train carrying hazardous chemicals in Ohio in 2001. As is the case with most dramatizations of real-life events the movie takes liberties with the facts making it a non-stop action filled race to prevent tragedy and provide redemption for the main characters. (more…)...

Review: RED
RED stands for "Retired and Extremely Dangerous" which is a classification given to only the best spies after they move on from their career. When an attempt to kill Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) fails it sets off a series of events that brings himself, along with some of his old friends, back to bring down a conspiracy. The movie is based on the graphic novel from Warren Ellis and while it retains some of the elements that made that work it ultimately falls flat. (more…)...

Review: Legend of the Guardians
An animated film about a battling faction of owls wouldn't have been many people's first guess of what project director Zack Snyder would take on coming off directing 300 and The Watchmen. Despite that it actually turns out to be a great fit, as he has created an experience that will captivate the younger crowd while giving everyone something to appreciate in its actual look and dramatic edge even with a story that feels rushed.
