Last week EA Sports rolled out the first info relating to gameplay improvements for Madden NFL 25 along with a teaser trailer. "Run Free" provides enhanced user-control for the ball-carrier, the "Infinity Engine" has been refined for the physics system's second year, blocking is said to have been worked on, and the defense gets another assist feature with "Heat-Seeker tackling". EA also has proudly touted how users will be able to "string together devastating combos" with runner moves by com...

Last week EA Sports offered the first look at NCAA Football 14 and provided some details on what to expect in the way of improvements and additions. The game will feature a refined "Infinity Engine" physics system. Enhanced player control in the way of cuts, acceleration bursts, and jukes. The introduction of Ultimate Team and Season modes. New "Coach Skills" in Dynasty and work done to the presentation (a big area of weakness in recent years) are also in the cards. Coming off two stra...

With baseball one of the last remaining sports that have competition – whether that continues to be the case in 2014 is up in the air at this point – the player face comparison between the two games has been one of the most popular features of the spring the last few years. The Show has won out in all three battles: 21-6 margin in 2012, 14-6 in 2011, and 11-8-1 in 2010. For 2013 the set of faces has been expanded to 40. If you haven’t already make sure to vote for ...

Having been out now for well over a week there has been ample opportunity to get in some evaluation time with the demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14. Packing in far more content than a typical demo for a sports game, including online-enabled live tournaments and a bit of the Legends of the Majors mode, it provides a chance to not only judge the changes to gameplay but also the potential value of the new feature additions this year. Vote in the poll below on how the demo has influenced you a...
  • Your Thoughts So Far on MLB 13: The Show

Outside of Postseason mode MLB 13: The Show didn't carry with it a bevy of flashy new features. What it did do however was work to refine and enhance all aspects of the series while increasing accessibility. Outside of an issue with CPU pitchers serving up fat first pitches most at-bats and an occasional stutter out of the pitching delivery (both of which are documented quite well in threads on Operation Sports - first pitch meatballs here and stutter here - but also noted by myself) this ma...

With a great deal of info on MLB 13: The Show having been released - the full features list having provided a ton of details - it has been difficult to gauge what in particular fans are most excited about. There seems to be a pretty big spread whether it is a particular new mode, an improvement made to an older one, or an enhancement to the gameplay experience. Vote in the poll, with the ability to choose up to three options, and expand with any thoughts on what it is that you're most ant...
  • Who Do You Plan to Support in the MLB 13: The Show Cover Vote?

The complete list of players eligible to become the cover athlete for MLB 13: The Show was revealed yesterday with Miguel Cabrera, Buster Posey, C.C. Sabathia, Ryan Braun, Matt Kemp, Bryce Harper, and Andrew McCutchen all in the running. With an odd number of players involved, and the lack of time to conduct an extensive process, that suggests there won't be a bracket but rather just a single draw with the highest vote-getter receiving the honor. Being bunched together rather than going h...
