The fourth Madden Developer Podcast, in which I was invited on to take part, has just rolled out! It turned out to be a wide ranging discussion on the industry and the big picture of Madden and sports gaming. Though I did express some thoughts at times the format was not along the lines of a Q&A, and hopefully that is something that can be accomplished down the line. A couple interesting things of note that were mentioned in the podcast is a 50/50 split between Franchise and Online play...

A good arcade style game can provide great entertainment value and act as a much needed change of pace. In the past few years games such as The BIGS, Blitz: The League, NBA Street, and Madden Arcade have found their way into the end of year lists. 2010 however was a down year for the arcade game, and almost by default NBA Jam claims the #10 spot in the countdown. A third podcast featuring developers from the Madden franchise went up earlier today. On a side note the plan is for me to take part in the next podcast. While I don't yet kn...

For the holiday weekend I thought I'd run through a Padrecast on my own and take some questions from Twitter and Facebook. I discuss the NBA 2K11 patch and ratings drop for Tony Parker and IGN's decision to run a piece praising EA for canceling NBA Elite 11 at the last minute. Then responding to a couple of the questions presented I go into the likelihood of college basketball and MVP Baseball returning, how the "Online Pass" may be affecting sales, and more. The podcast runs approximately 28 ...

Members of the Madden development team have begun what is hoped to be a regular podcast discussing the game, the thought process behind decisions, some talk about where things are headed, and answering questions from the community. It makes for an interesting listen and an opportunity to get additional insight into the development process. The first podcast includes Ian Cummings, Ronnie Morales, and Donny Moore. There have been some issues with getting the podcast to play with various links...
