Early Madden 10 Preview
On Monday I wrote about NCAA Football 10 coming out of the EA Sports Season Preview Event. While that game showcased features, Madden NFL 10 instead put technical improvements on display.
By now everyone has read about the Pro-Tak technology that allows for up to nine man gang tackles, "fight for the fumble", pushing the ball carrier, and the formation of a real pocket. Pro-Tak is providing far more than just a small improvement to the tackling animations. It really has a huge affect on e...

Continue on to read a preview of both Teambuilder and Season Showdown. Included are two video interviews with NCAA Football 10 designer Ben Haumiller as he runs through what to expect fr...

Madden 10 Cover Features Fitzgerald and Polamalu
For a long while I've stated my gut feeling on the cover of Madden NFL 10 was that it would feature either a wide receiver or defensive player. It turns out that it will be both. Today EA Sports has revealed the cover of Madden 10 will be shared by Steelers SS Troy Polamalu and Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald.
I pegged Larry Fitzgerald as a strong candidate during the Cardinals' playoff run. He broke the record for yards receiving in the playoffs where he caught seven TDs along with those 5...
The Four NCAA Football 10 Cover Athletes
The official announcements are only a couple hours away but most of the covers for NCAA Football 10 are out. Gamestop has posted up all of them except the 360 version. On the PSP it is USC QB Mark Sanchez and the PS2 is Texas DE/OLB Brian Orakpo. Already known was Utah QB Brian Johnson who captured the PS3 version.
I'll be updating this posting when the final cover athlete is revealed. All signs point to that being Michael Crabtree. Thanks for bryan121 for the tip.
Update: Despite EA a...
March Sales: The Show Soars While 2K Sinks
This generation has generally shown that despite increased user base sports games don't see significant growth in sales year over year. They remain relatively stagnant seeing only small increases. NPD just released sales numbers for March and the two baseball titles have blown that pattern out of the water. MLB 09 The Show (PS3) saw huge growth while MLB 2K9 (360) actually dropped when compared their 2008 versions.
Last year March sales of MLB 08 The Show didn't make the top 10 so a speci...
Rumor: Fitzgerald, Polamalu Madden 10 Cover
AZCentral.com is reporting a source has revealed that Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald will be on the cover of Madden 10. However it may not be just Fitzgerald as he may be joined by Steelers SS Troy Polamalu. You can read the full posting on the subject here.
I have actually come across some information that could confirm at least part of this rumor but I am checking into it further before posting on it. This duo certainly would be at the top of anyone's most likely list for the cover this ...
Player Face Comparisons: 2K9 vs The Show
Now that everyone knows how MLB 2K9 and MLB 09 The Show turned out I thought it would be fun to compare some of the player faces from the games. Doing so always results in an interesting post-release discussion.
I randomly selected 10 well known players and in comparable situations. All images were taken through the HD PVR via component with 2K9 being the 360 version vs The Show PS3. Which game do you think came out on top the most?
