Madden NFL 10 Coverage Wrap-Up
Madden 10 is now officially out so it'd be great to hear some more general impressions and reaction from those of you playing the game now. July 09 Sales Numbers
The NCAA Football series has shown minimal growth on the 360 even as the user base has increased over the last couple years, though on the PS3 side it has been showing marginal improvement. Madden has remained the most highly anticipated sports franchise in the US despite releases this generation that are looked back upon with disappointment. This year for Madden 10 the development team took a more serious approach focused on authenticity, presentation, and gameplay enhancements. FNR4 Patch Problems
Last week the first patch and downloadable content for Fight Night Round 4 made its way out on the 360 and was expected out today for the PS3. However issues have arisen with it on the 360 and Sony has rejected the update in certification. Reports quickly started coming in that the 360 update was causing numerous oddities including button configurations being defaulted in online matches and fighters not in the game showing up in the fighter select screen. First NCAA Football 10 Patch Out Now
The release patch for NCAA Football 10 which the PS3 received last week has finally been pushed live for the 360. Starting up the game should now prompt download of the patch automatically. Issues addressed include an on/off option for downloadable cheats in online dynasties, fixing of the sliders so they affect gameplay properly, and instituting the "fixed" rosters for online play usage. NCAA Football 10 Named Rosters Available
You can now grab the named rosters for NCAA Football 10 out of my EA Locker on both the 360 and PS3. Search for the Gamertag and PSN name pastapadre and they will be available to download. These have only been named and no other changes have been made meaning they can be used for online play and the names will be displayed. Fight Night Knocked Out in June Sales
Fight Night has proven one of the few sports franchises that has mainstream appeal. Fight Night Round 3 represented the second strongest franchise in US sales for EA Sports behind only Madden. After taking a few years off Fight Night Round 4 came out last month though it was difficult to judge the buzz around the game. NCAA Football 10 Impressions
While I haven't been able to spend extensive time with NCAA Football 10 I did want to post up my initial impressions. After reading through some reviews it's clear that the game is getting credit for things it probably shouldn't, but also getting knocked in areas unfairly.
