Review: Alice in Wonderland
Tim Burton has always been very hit or miss with me. Big Fish is one of my favorite movies and he has delivered classics like Edward Scissorhands and Beetle Juice, while many of his other films I have really disliked. His visual style and quirky, dark natured story telling works sometimes and others it doesn't. For Alice in Wonderland he created a dull world that was not able to capture any of the magic that has come with different tellings of the story over the years.

First Madden 11 News and Screenshots
Other than the mantra of Madden 11 being "simpler, quicker, and deeper" there has been little in the way of specific details about the upcoming game. However today IGN posted the first news about Madden 11 along with the first two screenshots which feature Miles Austin and Anquan Boldin. This first article focuses on the passing game, specifically improvements to catch animations and receiver AI. You can check out the full article here and I've also added the screens to the gallery.

NFL Making Changes for 2010-11 Season
A couple changes have already been confirmed for the upcoming NFL season that will need to be instituted in Madden 11. Earlier today the NFL owners passed the new rule for overtime, which at the moment is just to be used in the playoffs but in a couple months it may be voted in to use in the regular season as well. Also umpires are moving from being lined up behind the defensive tackles and will now be stationed on the offensive side. This is primarily being done for safety reasons while it al...
The Latest TV Ratings News
Having not done an article on the ratings of a specific show in some time I thought this would be a good opportunity to look at a few recent premieres and a couple shows that are on the bubble in terms of renewal.
Dancing With The Stars: This show tends to be more reliant on casting than other reality shows. With a strong cast this season it opened up last night with a series high of 24 million viewers and a 6.3 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Life: The highly anticipated nature documentary op...
Futurama Returns in June
It's been known for a while now that Futurama was coming back with all new episodes to air on Comedy Central. The show has taken a similar road back as Family Guy. After getting mediocre ratings in its initial run on Fox, it was canceled, only to see its popularity grow over the years due to DVD and reruns on Comedy Central.
Unlike Family Guy I really enjoy Futurama, though it isn't a show that I have necessarily gone out of my way to watch. When nothing else is on its something I flip over...
Are You Satisfied With The Baseball Games This Year?
No one can reasonably expect a perfect game, there will never be one. However consumers do have a right to expect a finished game. What we have this year, with MLB 2K10 and MLB 10: The Show, are arguably unfinished games. They certainly at least released that way, with The Show needing a patch to clear up some big franchise problems and freezes while 2K10 needed one just so people could play online ranked games without getting stuck and having to restart their consoles. And in the case of the ...
Return of the Padrecast
After a lengthy hiatus the Padrecast returns and with a new format, one that will likely evolve over time. This edition of the Padrecast involves discussion about that new direction, introduction of co-host Fred, a rundown of the biggest sports gaming news over the last week, and talk about the two most intriguing entertainment topics of the week. While we learned today that EA Sports is not suing over the South Park episode, the topic does come up, and in hindsight provides light on why the i...
Alice in Wonderland Easily Wins 3rd Weekend
As expected it was another box office victory for Alice in Wonderland which cruised to $34 million to take its cumulative gross to $265 million. That is an incredible take through three weeks, and shows the strength of the 3D draw especially. Alice though will take its first hit next weekend when How to Train Your Dragon arrives, which will steal away many of its 3D theaters and family base of moviegoers.
Exceeding industry expectations was Diary of a Wimpy Kid which made over $21 million. ...
