  • Donovan McNabb Traded to Redskins

The news has just broken that the Philadelphia Eagles have traded Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins. The compensation is said to be the 37th pick along with either a 3rd or 4th round pick in the 2011 draft to be determined on conditions over the coming season. This is especially stunning in that inter-division trades for high profile players are rarely completed. What the Eagles received was more than many had anticipated they would be able to get, and that could explain why they p...
  • Clash of the Titans Delivers Big Weekend But Shows Signs of 3D Fatigue

As expected Clash of the Titans easily topped the box office this weekend as it took in $64 million which includes late shows on Thursday night. This actually puts it at the low end of industry expectations but almost precisely where I predicted it would finish. It is a solid opening but not as spectacular as some were looking towards. It saw steeper drop-offs than usual from each day to the next. (more…)...

The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings. I did an interview with Stick Skills. Head over and check it out. Here is the next set of positional rankings heading into the NFL Draft. This one focuses on the running backs. This is a relatively deep crop with guys available in the later rounds (or that may even go undrafted) that could contribute if put in the right system. I will be posting up rankings focused on each position over the coming weeks. The lists may change as opinion adjusts or news comes out that affects the stock of the players. These rankings are based on my personal analysis of ...

  • Review: How to Train Your Dragon

Dreamworks Animation has delivered their best movie yet with How to Train Your Dragon. It's is a shame that it won't get the same attention as a Pixar film would, as Dragon is of that very caliber. What seems to be the common thread is the emotional attachment to the characters and their plights. Dragon delivers in this regard by providing a fun story that doesn't dumb itself down to appeal to the lowest common denominator. (more…)...
  • The Latest Backbreaker Preview

Game Informer has released the most comprehensive preview of Backbreaker yet. For the most part the preview is very harsh on the game. As I've said from the start it is important to manage expectations. Backbreaker has the potential to be a fun game, but it will not be a comprehensive sim or be able to capitalize on every element of a football game that the hardcore crowd feels is necessary. Check out the complete preview here. My first hand-on time with Backbreaker left me with mixed impress...
