It was expected to be a close race at the box office this weekend and that is exactly what we got. The Steve Carell-Tina Fey comedy Date Night squeaked out a first place finish with a little over $27 million. Wide spread appeal to both males and females provided strength and both Carell and Fey have delivered solid openings in the past. Last weekend's winner Clash of the Titans fell an expected 56% to just under $27 million. It has now collected $110 million but long term prospects are not ...

For the second consecutive Sunday a big trade has gone down. It isn't very often that Super Bowl MVP's are traded, but when they are they generally fetch better than what the Steelers have obtained in exchange for Santonio Holmes. Holmes has been traded to the New York Jets for a fifth round pick (151st) in this year's draft. The Steelers have recently been dealing with a troubling image hit due to the actions of both Holmes and Ben Roethlisberger. Holmes is actually facing a potential four...

A Strikeforce event will be taking place on June 16th in LA to coincide with E3. That is a strong indication that EA Sports MMA will be heavily promoted at the gaming convention. Whether it will be playable on the show floor is still unknown. A new community Q&A blog has been posted for UFC Undisputed 2010 which discusses aspects of the game such as attr...

With the Spider-Man franchise getting a reboot the casting of course is going to be a critical and highly-scrutinized element. Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is on to direct, and the story will be going back to high school. That means younger actors will be needed. Early word was that the studio wanted to go with relative unknowns. So naturally the rumors are starting to swirl with the first focus being on who will play Peter Parker. HitFix is reporting that Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) is ...

Back in January Netflix struck the first, of what was expected to be many, deals with distributors to add a delay period before offering DVDs for rent. That first agreement was with Warner Brothers and more recently Redbox announced the same deal with WB. 28 days must pass from when the movies are released in stores to when they would be available through the Netflix service or Redbox vending machines. Now Netflix has announced agreements with Universal and Fox for a four week delay period ...
