Recently I posted a poll to gauge what new addition to NCAA Football 11 was the most highly anticipated at the time. Now with a bunch of information having spilled already for Madden 11 it presents a good opportunity to get an early feel for what new element of the game is creating the most excitement. Two of the items on the list, the GameFlow play-calling and locomotion engine, have been extensively detailed by EA Sports. The other two main ones to this point are Gus Johnson as the play-b...

After a period where they both looked likely to happen, sequels for two films that built cult followings on DVD now appear to have their fates in serious question. Both Anchorman 2 and Zoolander 2 are facing trouble due to budgetary concerns. Late last week Anchorman director Adam McKay tweeted an update on the state of the sequel that he and Will Ferrell had been hoping to achieve. Paramount passed on it despite attempts to reduce the budget for the film. Paramount owns the rights to Ancho...

The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings. Leak for NHL 11 reveals the game will include the Canadian Hockey League. A patch is on the way for Tecmo Bowl Throwback to fix an online issue with recording wins and losses in situations where one side disconnects. The latest in the way of news mascots for NCAA Football 11 include Texas Tech's "Raider Red" and Houston's "Shasta". EA has also releas...
  • 2010 FIFA World Cup Hard Drive Evaluation

With 2010 FIFA World Cup in hand I have gone through and timed different loading areas when running off the disc compared to running off the hard drive on the 360. Installing to the hard drive not only has proven to cut down on load times, in some cases significantly, but it also reduces stress to the system and the noise it produces. World Cup has some lengthy load times, and surprisingly the hard drive install didn't offer much improvement in loading to the main menu or into a match. Ho...
