Last year there was over 2400 team nicknames included in the audio files which added an element to Teambuilder that caught some by surprise. I remember I was not expecting to hear Brad Nessler call out my Transformers team name making it a cool moment when I first heard it. For NCAA Football 11 there are nearly 4600 names with the complete list found here. Kotaku posted up an article on the subject going over the method behind how the names were chosen and recorded and the extent to which E...
  • FIFA 11 Release Moved Up to Make Room For EA Sports MMA

The FIFA series has settled into mid-October releases which in turn have provided a cushion from the the NBA games (first Tuesday of October). However this year with the release of FIFA 11 the game is scheduled for September 28th. The reason it has been pushed up is linked to EA Sports MMA. That game will hit stores on October 19th. Again I can't help but think there are just too many sports games being released in a very short stretch of time. In just a six week span EA Sports will be putt...

Variety is reporting that Judd Apatow is developing a new Pee-wee Herman movie, news of which was confirmed by Pee-wee (Paul Reubens) himself on Twitter. This will not be a project that Apatow directs however he will be on as a producer. It has been 22 years since the last Pee-wee film was in theaters. "Let's face it, the world needs more Pee-wee Herman," Apatow told Daily Variety. "I am so excited to be working with Paul Reubens -- who is an extraordinary and groundbreaking actor and wri...
  • NBA Free Agency Frenzy About to Begin

In what is probably the most anticipated free agency period in NBA history several high profile players are about to hit the market with multiple teams having cleared cap space in anticipation of the opportunity to sign them. Where the players land will obviously have a huge impact on how the teams shape up in NBA 2K11 and NBA Elite 11. Just imagine if Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh did play together in Miami. They would instantly become the most used team online. The potential for ...

For the next in the line of top player ratings in Madden NFL 11 here are the top cornerbacks and safeties. Check back tomorrow for the final group being special teams players. Make any inquiries into other corners or safeties not on the list in the comments or through Twitter or Facebook. I can’t guarantee I’ll get to all of them but I’ll try to get up at least the most requested players by responding there. (more…)...
  • Starz Cancels Party Down

The news that Party Down will not see a third season comes as little surprise but for fans of the series it will still be disappointing. Starz has officially decided to cancel the show. Prospects for a third season were never encouraging even before the axe came down. Ratings were poor (the recent season two finale got 74,000 viewers on its first airing) despite critical love and passionate fans and star Adam Scott was only contracted for another three episodes if there were to be another seas...

The Online Dynasty website for NCAA Football 11 is now live and with copies of the game out in the wild there are a few dynasties already in motion. On the website you can check out news articles with screenshots and video highlights, current standings and the Top 25 poll, and the team rosters and schedules. I've linked to the two currently active dynasties and will monitor to see if any others appear soon. For those involved in a dynasty the site will also allow for the completion of recruiti...
  • NCAA 11 Pastapadre Online Dynasty

Back when the Online Dynasty mode first launched with NCAA Football 09 the Pastapadre Online Dynasty was a big success, but the dynasty activity took a nosedive with a lack of improvement in general with NCAA Football 10 as well as the inability to get one started with Teambuilder squads involved. Signs are that NCAA Football 11 will be delivering a compelling experience due to the ability to access the dynasties online and even complete tasks such as recruiting. That should make things mov...
