Late last week NPD released the official sales numbers for June. Tiger Woods 11 saw a huge drop-off from what Tiger 10 sold in its first month. Given the numbers that were on hand I estimated that it had fallen in the 40-50% range. It turns out that the situation was even more dire than anticipated. Sales actually dropped 68% year-over-year for all formats combined while the Wii version specifically fell an almost unbelievable 86%. It went from 272K to 38K. The main factor in the plummeting...

The Padrecast is back with Fred and Dylan though tragedy struck and the recording apparently cut off part way through the entertainment discussion. That means you'll miss out on our usual Ken Jeong update and talk about Pauly Shore's Adopted which is terribly unfortunate. Since the Comic-Con portion was lost we'll likely do a short preview Padrecast when down in San Diego later this week. Below is just some of what is talked about over the (now) 31 minute running time. Download the podcast d...

Inception made $61.4 million this weekend exceeding most expectations. The Christopher Nolan project starring Leonardo DiCaprio (review here) opened at the high end of industry predictions which had pegged it as heading for a $40-60 million weekend. While its take won't stand out as a huge number on its own consider that it is the 10th highest grossing opening weekend for an original film in history. Avatar currently tops that list, with many people forgetting that its opening weekend was just...
