It is extremely rare that a game gets delayed as close to its scheduled release as happened with NBA Elite 11. The decision seemed to come down at the very last minute, just eight days before it was set to hit store shelves. Given that time frame it was likely that the game had gone gold and copies had been manufactured, though they were unlikely to have been sent on their way to retailers. Even the cover athlete, Kevin Durant, didn't have one in hand and both EA Sports and 2K Sports make a...

The second casualty of the fall TV season is the ABC drama My Generation. After only two episodes the network has removed it from the schedule but has not announced what will replace it at 8pm on Thursday nights. The show took on a documentary style in the following of a group of friends as they flashed back and forth between present day and 10 years prior when they were seniors in high school. Earlier this week Fox canceled their new series Lone Star after just two episodes as well. My Gen...

The latest patch for Madden 11 seems to have resurrected the scorebar pop-up ads that first appeared in Madden 10. Drawing the ire of many gamers who contacted me regarding the issue, this form of advertising was thought to have been removed for this year due to the heavy ad placement found in different areas of the game. (more…)...
  • Kevin Durant Learned About NBA Elite 11 Delay on Twitter

One would assume that the cover athlete of a major sports game would be informed of a crucial development such as said game's delay. By agreeing to be on the cover and take on the role of spokesperson an athlete's image is ultimately being tested and put on the line. In the case of Kevin Durant, featured on the cover of NBA Elite 11, he apparently found out about the game's delay through Twitter and not from EA Sports. (more…)...
  • Hitch to Become TV Series

The 2005 hit film Hitch is being turned into a television series, with multiple networks in the bidding hoping to acquire it. The movie, which starred Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and Kevin James went on to make $180 million domestically and doubled that number when counting in foreign grosses. Its $50 million opening weekend still holds the record for a romantic comedy. I can see Hitch working as a series pretty well given the concept. The question is whether a lead can be cast in the 'Alex Hit...
