A trailer has arrived for the upcoming release of Death Race 2. Wait...there is going to be a sequel to Death Race? Turns out it is actually a prequel despite the what the title suggests. Also it is going straight to DVD. There will be no Jason Statham but it actually carries some relatively decent names for a straight to DVD film. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo, and Sean Bean. Death Race 2 takes place in the very near future, as the United States economy begins to decline and ...
  • Early NBA 2K11 Observations

While I continue to collect thoughts on NBA 2K11, with plans to post full impressions on Monday, I thought I'd lay out some things worth noting early on. Outside of issues with online play and My Player mode the response to the game has been overwhelmingly positive. That is in stark contrast to how the game released last year and a testament to how much work has gone into gameplay while still adding a great deal of content. 2K11 shows that yearly sports titles don't have to sacrifice in one ar...

The rumors continue as to potential villains that could be involved in the upcoming final film in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. The latest involves a character that would be less familiar to audiences who haven't followed the comics (or played the Arkham Asylum video game from last year) and has yet to be touched upon in any Batman films. Killer Croc began in the comics as a powerful man covered in green scales due to a skin condition, which would mesh more with Nolan's grounded take ...
  • Raising Hope Gets Full Season Order

My favorite new comedy of the fall season is the Fox series Raising Hope. It actually has quickly become my favorite comedy on TV behind just Modern Family. The series centers on a young guy that gets stuck with a baby and his somewhat dysfunctional family that helps him out. It sounds generic on the surface but it avoids that completely and has surprised me in many ways. The show just has a sentimental and honest nature to it, somehow remaining just grounded enough despite some outrageous eve...
