    It may have taken a full month but the NBA Today feature in NBA 2K11 is fully functioning. NBA Today delivers dynamic commentary that calls upon real life events and graphics that display updated records and stats from around the league.   • Three Openers Make For Record First November Weekend

    Megamind, Due Date, and For Colored Girls all performed well helping to combine for a record breaking total to the holiday season kick-off weekend. The three totaled over $100 million and contributed to the top 10 which finished with $142 million. The animated film Megamind, which released with the most 3D screens of any film to date, won the weekend with $47.6 million.     In my initial impressions of Kinect for Xbox 360 I noted that despite how capable the hardware was ultimately it would be the software that makes the experience worthwhile or not. Of all the Kinect games I've played so far I've only been let down by one and that is MotionSports from Ubisoft. (more…)...

    The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings. There are 10 new screenshots for NBA Jam HD in the gallery featuring a few of the unlockable legends and a handful of mascots.     A patch for NHL 11 is nearing release for the 360 and PS3 and could make their way out as early as this coming week. Continue on for a list of details for the patch focusing on the gameplay improvements and some other fixes.     Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for Hall Pass. Directed by the Farrelly brothers the comedy stars Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis as husbands who are granted a week of freedom by their wives to do whatever they want no questions asked.     Only one day in with Kinect and it has been a surprisingly enjoyable experience. This comes from someone who has not bought into the concept of motion-based gaming previously. The question certainly remains whether it will have the desired replayability factor but I'm confident enough at this point to have decided to sell my Wii. I've kept that console around just in case a compelling game comes along but having Kinect makes it feel unnecessary and obsolete. (more…)...
  • NBC Cancels Undercovers

    NBC has announced that they have canceled JJ Abrams' Undercovers. The last scheduled episode will air on December 1st however three more episodes were produced and may be burned off somewhere down the line. The cancellation news does not come as a surprise. The show received mediocre reviews, did not debut strong in the ratings, and fell every week since. Its most recent episode drew just a 1.3 in the 18-49 demo which is a terrible number for a new episode of an original series on network T...
