New Trailer for The Fighter
With the December 17th wide release of The Fighter nearing another trailer for the film has arrived that focuses more on the fight action and less on the drama. Based on the true story and starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, The Fighter centers on the early years of boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward (Wahlberg) and his unlikely road to the world light welterweight title while being guided by his half-brother and trainer Dickie Eklund (Bale). I'll be checking out a screening of the...

Madden 11 Roster Update #14 Details
This week's roster update for Madden 11 takes into account week 11 and week 12 of the NFL season. Two weeks worth of data on top of the first 11 games of the season makes this one of the most significant updates provided this year.
Peyton Manning has lost the coveted 99 rating. Dropping a point to 98 is significant in this case as Manning has been a steady 99 in Madden for years. Another 99 from earlier in the season, Chris Johnson, drops a point to 97. A very big game followed by absolutel...
Uncharted Movie Sounds Nothing Like The Uncharted Game
Those who were holding out hope that Uncharted: Drakes Fortune would end up as a proper adaptation of the video game can safely write off that possibility now. Director David O. Russell has laid out his idea for the film and it basically is a brand new concept and takes little from the Uncharted game franchise.

Soon it was announced as being a "free" pack-in with NBA Elite 11. Even at that time there were many people who planned on buying Elite in order to obtain NBA Jam. Over the following months the desire for the game dissipated at an alarmi...

EA Sports MMA Sequel Confirmed
Much of the discussion around EA Sports MMA since its release in mid-October has centered on whether or not the potential franchise would be done after just one release. After a random analyst predicted its demise there came a wave of websites doing the same. It almost seemed as though there was a widespread smear campaign in effect. Instead, looking at the situation objectively, I felt there was reason to believe EA Sports MMA had a future.
In an interview with Figure Four Daily (via Crunc...
Arcade Games Struggling to Survive at Retail
The recent release of NBA Jam, and the rumor of EA Sports possibly reviving NFL Blitz, prompted some thinking on my part as to the future of arcade style games. One has to wonder if they simply are no longer viable as full retail releases. Sluggish sales of NBA Jam are the latest example of the struggles to succeed in the marketplace. (more…)...
