It was a year in sports gaming that had a couple really great offerings followed by several good titles that lacked significantly in certain areas. In that sense it was no different than any other year though distinctly more top-heavy. In the four years of doing a countdown of top games 2K Sports has now captured the top spot twice with NBA 2K11 and The BIGS. EA Sports has one nod with NCAA Football 09, and last year's winner UFC Undisputed 2009 came from THQ. UFC Undisputed 2010 dropped co...

With his standout performance in the BCS National Championship game, Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley may have cemented his stock as the prospective number one pick in the NFL Draft. Fairley was already projected to go high, likely in the top three, but the dominance on a national stage may have propelled him into the role as the front-runner. Certainly the impact that Ndamukong Suh had in his rookie year could also help his chances. A junior he still has not yet officially declared for th...

Despite a solid marketing push and great buzz the new FX series Lights Out debuted to disappointing ratings. The premiere brought in just 1.5 million viewers and a 0.6 18-49 rating. Combined with encore showings Lights Out totaled 2.4 million viewers for the evening. FX recently canceled the widely championed but low rated Terriers after its first season. That show started with 1.6 million viewers and 0.5 18-49 rating and eventually fell several points despite a dedicated fan base. Lights O...

Details on the game were vague though it was known that it would be intensely graphic including the ability to injure opponents by going as far as breaking their necks. Today it was announced that former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver will lend his likeness and backsto...
