With the hours ticking down to the release of the MLB 11: The Show demo a full gameplay video has been released. Unfortunately the only way to view it is from the Gamestop site so click over and scroll down to select "Gameplay Trailer" from the column on the right side of the page. The video includes seven full minutes of high quality footage featuring the St. Louis Cardinals @ Chicago Cubs. It affords a decent opportunity to get a look at the pitching meter in action and sample some of the...
  • Demo for MLB 11: The Show Out Tomorrow

In a posting yesterday the Playstation Blog casually revealed that a demo for MLB 11: The Show would release with the update of PSN on the evening of Tuesday February 21st. This comes as somewhat of a surprise simply due to the timing involved and that to date SCEA had not publicly discussed any of their plans for the demo. Typically Sony would make a bigger deal out of promoting their products including their demo releases. That Killzone 3 releases on Tuesday ultimately shouldn't affect...

The top five films at the box office this weekend all finished within $5 million of each other. It was the Liam Neeson thriller Unknown that captured the top spot, while fellow openers I Am Number Four and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son finished in second and fifth respectively. Liam Neeson showed he could open a thriller early in the year with 2009's Taken and Unknown played to a very similar audience. The ads for the film could have easily been mistaken as being a sequel. Taken opened ...

  • Fight Night Champion’s Story Mode is Short

The "Champion" story mode in Fight Night Champion is getting a great deal of exposure in the build-up to the game's release, with EA Sports going as far as to tout how it was crafted by Academy Award nominated screenwriter Will Rokos. ESPN's Jon Robinson has offered some independent perspective on what to expect however by tweeting that the mode will last just 4-8 hours depending on individual skill level. One would think a story mode in a sim boxing game would be artificially extended by t...

Dimension Films has released the first trailer for the "found footage" horror movie Apollo 18. The story is based on the conspiracy theory that there was an 18th manned mission to the moon and what went wrong leading to it being covered up. Apollo 18 is slated to release on April 22nd. Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by th...

It should be concerning that the arrival of MLB 2K11 is just over two weeks away and no gameplay videos have been released. 2K Sports is not even sending preview builds out to media sites this year. Though the series somewhat recovered with 2K10 the last thing it needed going into 2K11 was the sense that it was being hidden or protected from criticism. A prerelease demo will certainly be critical in establishing it as a capable title but has not yet been announced. Today brings the first op...
