Fight Night Champion Patch A Ways Off
Those eagerly awaiting a patch for Fight Night Champion have a significant wait ahead. Today it was posted in the official FNC forums that a patch can be expected to release "sometime in the next few months". I tend to think that was just worded poorly or the statement was made in an attempt to lower expectations and a patch would more likely be coming in the 4-6 week range.
Thankfully the series added the ability to deliver "Tuning Updates" which can be pushed out at any time without bei...
MLB 2K11 Franchise Sim Results
One area of MLB 2K11 that looks to be producing reasonably good results is the Franchise mode sim engine. I went through and simmed a single season and outside of one questionable trade the developments looked to be generally plausible and the stats realistic. Continue on for some screens from the mode including standings, stats, and awards winners. (more…)...
MLB 11 Franchise Mode Bug To Be Addressed
Yesterday it was discovered that a major bug is present in MLB 11: The Show's Franchise mode, one that is practically identical to a bug in MLB 10 that plagued the mode as well. Essentially after just a couple years (in this instance going into the 2014 season) the free agency list is populated by big name players who have been priced out of the market by cheaper players who progressed to high ratings. Those All-Star caliber players linger in free agency from then on and are not signed by the ...
MLB 2K11 Quick First Day Impressions
Given that 2K Sports didn't send out copies to reviewers prerelease, something that is typically a very bad sign for major titles, I thought it important to get up some early thoughts on the game for those who may be on the fence. Pretty quickly I have come across what is probably the reason why reviewers didn't get the game. The CPU AI is atrocious. There are certainly aspects to the game I like quite a bit, but something as critical as CPU AI can not just be overlooked. This by no means repr...
MLB 2K11 Hard Drive Evaluation
Continuing with the series of Xbox 360 hard drive installation evaluations I've gone through and compared several areas of MLB 2K11 based on loading times from the disk vs the hard drive. In general the loading times are brisk for 2K11, but the install delivers slight improvement in that area. (more…)...
MLB 2K11 Perfect Game Rules
It may have come late but 2K Sports has finally posted the official rules and guidelines for the MLB 2K11 $1 Million Perfect Game Contest therefore meeting what was likely a legal obligation to do so. The rules appear to be largely similar to last year, though the age requirement has been dropped to 13. The contest will officially open up on April 1st at noon eastern. Continue on to check out all the specifics. (more…)...
First Roster Update for MLB 11: The Show
SCEA has delivered the opening day roster update for MLB 11: The Show. The update includes 156 changes with the most significant moves cited in the image above. For those of you without an online-connected PS3 I've gone ahead and prepared the file. You can download the file directly from here , unpack, and then transfer the folder to the console. It will then appear in the saves within the game where it can be loaded manually....

Universal has released a second theatrical trailer for Fast Five. The fifth entry in the Fast and the Furious franchise finds many of the main characters back again and joined by Dwayne Johnson as a federal agent trying to track them down in Rio de Janeiro. The story takes place between Fast & Furious and Tokyo Drift. Fast Five is slated to release on April 29th.
In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opp...
