Earlier today SCEA released the first patch for MLB 11: The Show intended to fix issues that were discovered with the game post-release. The two week turnaround time is right about the same as last year, as Sony has the benefit of pushing their own game through the patch approval process ahead of others. Unfortunately the patch does not address the free agency problem a few years into Franchise mode or attempt to improve online play performance. Another more comprehensive one is in the wo...

EA Sports has released the first trailer for Madden NFL 12. The teaser trailer provides the initial glimpses at the upcoming game and also reveals some features set to be introduced. One that stood out was the "Custom Playbooks" which has been long requested and will be a very welcome addition. There is more to pour over and pick out of the trailer than just that including what appears to be player "tendencies", "dynamic ratings", mascots and cheerleaders, and the surprise onside kicks. J...

The big news of the day is the tournament style voting for the cover of Madden NFL 12, but in launching the website for the game EA Sports has also communicated their plans for feature-centric blogs over the coming months. A video unveiling some features is expected as early as tomorrow (update: confirmed tomorrow morning), though the blogs would certainly be intended to go into much greater detail than anything that might be shown in a teaser video. April 28: 1) X-Books & Gameplay 2)...

Speculation has long been that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be cast in The Dark Knight Rises, but rumors around what character he would play have been all over the map. He has now officially signed on for the final entry in Christopher Nolan's trilogy and his role has been revealed thanks to multiple sources (though not confirmed officially yet by Warner Brothers). Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone, the son of Carmine Falcone the crime boss who appeared in Batman Begins (played by Tom...
  • Full Madden 12 Cover Bracket
    by

The full tournament bracket for the Madden NFL 12 cover has now been released. As reported earlier each team has a player up for the honor that will be voted upon in a 'March Madness' style tournament. The Seahawks' candidate however is "The 12th Man" rather than a player. The seeding is somewhat odd, given that the Patriots representative Danny Woodhead has somehow pulled a four seed as one example. This may be due to the first round featuring all inter-division rivalries. The most in...

All three new openers at the box office performed well with Limitless topping the charts by exceeding industry expectations. The Lincoln Lawyer and Paul came in fourth and fifth respectively with solid openings considering their budgets. A weekend filled with NCAA Tournament contests made curious that three films that would appeal to males opened up, let alone opened well. Limitless was supported by a strong marketing campaign from Virgin Produced, the first film to be backed by the co...
