Cinemax has given the green light to a new series based on the Transporter film franchise. A 12 episode agreement has been struck that has executive producer Luc Beeson on board. Production is expected to begin this summer with the series debuting sometime next year. Transporter, the series, will center on professional transporter Frank Martin, played in the movies by Jason Statham. Operating in a seedy underworld of dangerous criminals and desperate players, Martin can always be counted on...

It has been my gut feeling all along that there would be no simulation NBA title from EA Sports released this year. The damage done by the near release of NBA Elite 11 was too much to recover from quickly, especially given the studio move from EA Canada to Tiburon which would surely hold up the process. When it was discovered that the team hadn't even been put together at the point the move was announced it became clear it wasn't going to get done in a single development cycle. EA Sports ...

By Brian Sipple Tiger Woods is an enigma. As his continuing struggles on the golf course show his future is subject to anyone’s best guess and his swing seems to have run off with Elin and the kids. If there’s anyone alive who can truly comprehend what’s going on in Tiger’s head right now, he’s probably too busy making a fortune in the stock market or helping the U.S. government find Bin Laden. I mean, seriously, how do you fall from worldwide icon, become...

Instead of just setting the 25 man rosters the extra time provided for some of the rookies that since Thursday had made their major league debuts, such as the San Francisco Giants' Brandon Belt, to be added to the game. The first update of the regular season is now available and a prompt will be given upon startin...

It seems lately with every launch of a new series on cable a ratings record of some sort is being broken. In the case of Starz it delivered Camelot to the highest ratings of an original series premiere for the network besting Spartacus. Over on AMC as the second biggest premiere for the highly regarded network it was The Killing which launched successfully and is being counted on to hold audiences over until Breaking Bad returns in the summer. Camelot is yet another retelling of the Ki...

Both Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis squeezed out 51-49 victories over their respective opponents Maurice Jones-Drew and Matt Ryan in the closest matchups of the previous round. The third round finds Aaron Rodgers facing Danny Woodhead in what should be no contest. All three new films to open this weekend targeted a different audience and have seen successful returns especially considering their respective budgets. The animated-live action mix Hop came in first place as a family film, Source Code finished second with its sci-fi action, and Insidious brought the horror for third place. A successful streak for family targeted films (with one exception being the bomb Mars Needs Moms) continues as Hop opened to $38.1 million and slightly exceeding expec...
