    The first look at The Hobbit comes from Entertainment Weekly as the two movies are currently being filmed. The pictures feature Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Ian McKellan as he returns to his Lord of the Rings role of Gandolf.     EA Sports has just revealed that Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos has received the honor of being cover athlete for NHL 12. Stamkos was the number one pick in the 2008 draft, an All-Star, and led the league in goals in 2010 while coming in second this last season.     The final specifics on the demo for NCAA Football 12 were provided yesterday and now EA Sports has followed up with a video explaining what to expect from the demo and a series of screenshots - most of which showcase the two available matchups of Oregon at Texas and Alabama at Florida State.     Today NaturalMotion announced that Backbreaker: Vengeance is set to release Wednesday June 29th on Xbox Live Arcade. A timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 it will follow for the PS3 sometime this summer. Despite the release news and being only a week away the company did not reveal the price.     The general framework of the NCAA Football 12 demo has been known for a while now. It is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday June 28th for the 360 and PS3 with four different teams and the ability to unlock five Pro Combat jerseys.   • Falling Skies Debuts to Solid Ratings

    TNT launched its new original series Falling Skies last night to encouraging results. The premiere, which included two hour long episodes, collected 5.9 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo. Though the show wasn't particularly engaging and felt flat with some dialogue and special effects it has promise. The backing of Steven Spielberg will buy it some time to develop.
