Though NBA 2K12 is the premiere league-licensed title to release in less than two weeks another is on the way in the form of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. Less affected by the NBA lockout it faces its own hurdles as it attempts to overcome a disappointing full-priced offering last year that has resulted largely in apathy towards On Fire Edition. By going digital download only on XBLA and PSN for $15 it becomes more reasonable to consider but it still has yet to generate much excitement or antici...

Week two of the NFL season is in the books and already a few teams look like they are destined to be in the running for the top spot in the draft and with it the right to nab Stanford QB Andrew Luck. This will be something evaluated several times throughout the year as developments occur - as shown by Cam Newton even a rookie QB can make a huge impact and change the fortunes of a franchise. The Colts having lost Peyton Manning sets them up to potentially have the worst record in the leagu...

After arriving with a myriad of issues EA Sports released a patch two weeks ago that was meant to address many of them. Unfortunately that patch introduced a new issue as it created a playbook bug while running no-huddle that affected both offense and defense. Today the company announced that another patch has reached internal testing - after which it will need to go to Microsoft and Sony (meaning it's probably around three weeks out). The patch's intention is to fix the no-huddle bug. It...

EA Sports is on a streak of sales successes as NHL 12 follows Madden 12, NCAA Football 12, and Tiger Woods 12 by delivering a significant year-over-year increase of its own. NHL 12 sold 451K copies worldwide in its first week which is up 19% from what NHL 11 was able to collect in the same period of time. Pre-order deals which offered a $10 promotional credit, and the company's early play subscription program the 'Season Ticket', should be considered factors in the rise but it has simply ...

It's still very early in the NFL season but certain trends have already begun to emerge and individual players have either reestablished themselves coming off last season or are showing signs of breaking out. While there probably won't be many huge ratings swings in this week's Madden NFL 12 roster update it should be setting up for that time which justifiably is nearing. Another round of severe injuries has landed Jamaal Charles, Thomas Davis, Nick Collins, and Jordan Shipley on IR. Mile...

Netflix today announced that they will be completely separating their DVD rental and streaming services into two different companies. The Netflix name will stay with the streaming side while a new company to be known as Qwikster will handle the DVDs. Yes, that means that those who want both will need to subscribe indepedently to different websites, and create queues and rate films/shows on each - there will be no integration between the two. The company has taken a big PR hit lately, and ...
