Review: Safe House
Safe House finds a young and inexperienced CIA operative (Ryan Reynolds) caught up in a situation where he must protect a dangerous fugitive in his custody (Denzel Washington) from those who are actively trying to kidnap him. Though it does avoid the "bonding" that might be expected that also leaves the characters feeling underdeveloped and detached while the conspiracy angle driving the events is ultimately predictable. (more…)...

Review: Chronicle
Though widely described as a found-footage film Chronicle instead takes on its name as one of three high schoolers who receive mysterious powers record the events that take place throughout. The movie takes on a point-of-view framing rather than becoming about a later discovery as the viewer goes along for the ride that culminates in a surprisingly dark and destructive conclusion. Jeremy Lin Due for Attention in NBA 2K12
The most astonishing story of the NBA season has been the emergence of Jeremy Lin who has practically reached superstar status overnight. Lin, who went undrafted in 2010 out of Harvard, had been cut by the Warriors, Rockets, and was literally days away from the same fate with the Knicks. Final Madden NFL 12 Roster Update Next Week
A quick note given the level of interest on the subject: EA Sports has announced that the final roster update for Madden NFL 12 will arrive next week. UFC Undisputed 3 Highlight Reel Feature
One somewhat unheralded new addition to the UFC franchise is the "Highlight Reel" feature. There are actually two different aspects to it - one comes with the "Smart Highlight Reel" which can be automatically generated while the other is the ability to create and edit your own highlight video.
