EA Sports has announced that 30 rookies from this month's NFL Draft will be added to Madden Ultimate Team mode in Madden NFL 12 beginning on the 26th. In addition to those 30 there will be 6 dubbed as "Future Stars" who will have a second card but with ratings based off envisioning their "career year" down the line. The standard rookie cards will include ratings that will likely be very similar, or potentially identical, to those they'll debut with in Madden NFL 13. It's definitely surpri...

The second set of fighters being delivered through downloadable content for UFC Undisputed 3 isn't scheduled to release until April 17 but one group of gamers will get to use them early. Microsoft has posted the "International Pack" compatibility download which is something necessary to allow those who buy the DLC to play online against those who haven't. It turns out that this is allowing those who have purchased the "Season Pass" for UFC's DLC access to the new group of fighters. Everyo...

The semi-regular site giveaways continue with this week a Blu-ray/DVD Combo copy of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which I found to be one of the best action films in recent years, going to the winner. There are several ways to qualify and each one counts for an entry – so the more you complete the more chances to win. The giveaway is open now and will run through Sunday morning when the winner will be randomly selected and contacted for shipping details. Good luck!  (...

With the rate at which recent releases have seen their prices drop - some within a matter of days after hitting stores - MLB 12: The Show has bucked the trend by staying put at its $60 price until today. Amazon is now selling the PS3 version of the game for $50 while the Vita is still at its original $40. Also it's worth noting that the deal where buying one gets a discount of $20 on the other remains only in effect until tomorrow April 10th. While sales for The Show have apparently falle...
  • NCAA Football 13 Sticks With Only The One Playable Camera Angle

A recent EA Sports podcast focusing on NCAA Football 13 has brought news that the series will once again go with having just a single playable camera angle. It's the latest in a long line of topics that have generated additional negativity towards the upcoming product. It's not so much about how much demand there is for additional cameras - there is definitely some but it's probably not really significant - instead it's the lack of care shown by the company for those who do desire more in...
  • MLB 12: The Show Opening Weekend Roster Update Brings No New Players

The first roster update to follow the opening of the season for MLB 12: The Show has arrived and brings with it 178 total player movements. However somewhat surprisingly the update did not deliver any of the players who appeared in their first MLB games which made them eligible to be added. The most notable name of those still absent is Oakland A's outfielder Yoenis Cespedes who already has 3 home runs and 7 RBIs in the first 4 games. Yu Darvish has his debut tonight meaning he can be add...

The first trailer for Oliver Stone's Savages has arrived. The film is based on the novel of the same name and stars Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Blake Lively, and a number of big names in smaller parts. Savages is slated to release on July 6.
