The last thing EA Sports needed for NBA Live 13 was increased skepticism and negativity. That's exactly what they got however at E3 as report after report pegged Live as a let down - even ESPN called it the biggest disappointment at the event.  (more…)...
  • THQ Had Been Losing Money on UFC

EA Sports picking up the UFC license from THQ was arguably the single biggest surprise announcement to come out of E3 this year. It's been widely recognized for some time now that THQ as a company is in dire straits and - like Take Two and their handling of sports - they have a desire to get out from under the significant costs inherent in licenses. Still a transfer of the license would have been seen as a long shot particularly considering the disdain shown towards EA in the past by Dana Wh...

Here is the third and final batch of Madden NFL 13 gameplay videos captured from the show floor of E3. These specific ones were grabbed within the first few hours of the first day so user play is somewhat behind those that were posted yesterday - it took some time to adjust to the improved defensive play. Still this is more opportunity to check out the Infinity Engine physics in action along with some of the other gameplay improvements. Time permitting the write-up on Connected Careers, w...

In terms of news NCAA Football 13 hasn't been faring all too well lately. EA Sports pushed out the demo for the game five weeks prior to release hoping to distract from all the big Madden NFL 13 announcements and subsequent buzz - and by giving consumers their hands-on experience with NCAA 13 that the improvements would be evident and perceived as a worthwhile upgrade from last year regardless of what is going on with Madden. Now that the demo has been out for a few days how do you feel a...

Here is the top 25 ranking of teams in NCAA Football 13 as grabbed from the show floor at E3. Defending National Champion Alabama leads the way despite five teams actually being rated higher in the game. The biggest discrepancy comes with Texas who got a 99 overall rating but are only ranked 22nd. The lowest rated team to make the top 25 is West Virginia at 87 overall who are all the way up at #10. There is a surprise bonus team being included in Madden NFL 13 which goes by the name 'Canton Greats'. Coached by a young John Madden on the sideline the team features a mix of legends and current superstars. Home field is Fawcett Stadium (Hall of Fame Field) and they have their own unique uniforms. Because depth charts were inaccessible with the E3 build it's unclear if the starting lineups contain all the legends or if others are present - and whether any more legends obtained (via pre-ord...
