When the news broke that THQ had sold off the UFC license to EA Sports many assumed that the company's more stable backing and marketing prowess would catapult the brand's exposure and credibility levels and in turn increase sales greatly. Though NCAA Football 13 was largely overshadowed at E3 by Madden NFL 13 the move to release the demo during the event paid some dividends for EA Sports. NCAA may not be the the innovative product this year but the improvements that were made do seem to be resonating once the opportunity arises to actually play the game. The results of the poll which collected over 5K votes will be encouraging for EA though not overwhelmingly so.  (more…)...

EA Sports has announced the pre-order incentives for NHL 13 and they vary between retailers. The options will be of interest to Hockey Ultimate Team or Be a Pro and EA Sports Hockey League players. Outside of those modes though they are offering nothing. The one with the most value is probably Gamestop's but otherwise it may be worth waiting to see if Amazon drops the price or adds a promotional credit in the coming weeks. Amazon: BAUER gloves, stick, skates, boost to enhance Be a Pro/EAS...

It was only a matter of time though before some element of the game would draw hostile reaction and that has come with what is lacking in "Connected Careers" a...

2K Sports has released a full description of what to expect with the All-Star Weekend content for NBA 2K13 which will be provided with pre-orders. The info confirms (as expected) that Michael Jordan will be back and presumably so will other legends and classic teams. It remains unclear whether the Rising Stars Challenge will simply be rookies vs sophomores or involve choosing teams from the pool of players like was done this last year with Shaq and Charles Barkley. It's also important to not...
  • E3: Thoughts on Connected Careers in Madden NFL 13

EA Sports has struggled with communicating just what Connected Careers in Madden NFL 13 is all about and going with a new name to reflect the revolutionary advancement is playing a big part in that. Confusion still abounds from those believing the company has "removed Franchise mode" and any recognition of what is actually being offered remains cloudy at best. Essentially being a "Coach" in Connected Careers is what Franchise mode used to be while choosing to be a "Player" is more along t...
