    The lawsuit filed in 2008 regarding the pricing of EA Sports football products following the acquisitions of exclusive licenses recently reached a settlement. The details were announced today and go beyond just the anticipated consumer payouts. EA will be responsible for establishing a $27 million fund for consumers who purchased Madden, NCAA, or AFL games since 2006.     In the first real preview to come out for Madden NFL 13 on PlayStation Vita the author at Polygon, Samit Sarkar, expressed a level of discomfort with the '13 being present in the title.     EA Sports today released preliminary details on the first two patches in the pipeline for NCAA Football 13. The first is scheduled to release on July 31 and will address a crash experienced in Dynasty mode and a playcall screen bug.     Connected Careers mode in Madden NFL 13 features a number of personalities within a faux Twitter feed commenting on the events that take place throughout the league.     The nominees for the 2012 Emmy Awards were announced this morning with the show scheduled to take place on Sunday September 23 on ABC. Leading the way with 17 nominations are the FX show American Horror Story (which is controversially classified as a mini-series for awards purposes) and the AMC series Mad Men.     EA Sports today announced that the development team behind the upcoming EA Sports UFC is that of the Fight Night franchise. The company began publicly discussing the new UFC series earlier this week with the news that work on it was already underway. The development team is led by GM Dean Richards (Fight Night, NHL, SSX) and creative director Brian Hayes (Fight Night Round 4, Fight Night Champion).  (more…)...

    Those disappointed with NCAA Football 13 should take solace in the fact that even the usually forgiving major media sites have turned on the product this year. NCAA 13 is the lowest the series has come in since Metacritic has been tracking it with a current score of just 76 and just the second time an entry has come in under 80. This is something that EA Sports has no choice but to respond to.  (more…)...
