    One issue since the launch of NCAA Football 13 has been with the online rankings and how points from games have applied to leaderboards. For all intents and purposes the rankings were broken.     EA Sports today has announced that player ratings for Madden NFL 13 will start being announced next week. The procedure of revealing ratings is much different than previous years. Weeks will focus on positions rather than divisions and teams.  (more…)...

    It's been a significant week for FIFA 13 news as EA Sports announced career mode details and the introduction of Skill Games while also showcasing the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration.   • EA Sports Details Kinect Integration in Madden NFL 13

    EA Sports today released a new video for Madden NFL 13 that focuses on the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration. Back at E3 the Kinect features were put on display for both Madden and FIFA 13. It appeared to be far less useful - and even showed problematic lag in responsiveness - for Madden compared to the benefits that will come from utilizing it within FIFA.   • Class Action Settlement Terms Will Have Little Effect on Sports Gaming Landscape

    Last Friday the proposed settlement in the case that claimed with EA Sports holding the exclusives for the major football licenses they had "raised" prices was announced. The big news wasn't in the money that the company must pay out which is relatively insignificant but that they are restricted from holding the exclusive with NCAA for a period of five years.   • First EA Sports UFC News Generates Fairly Positive Response

    The deal to acquire the UFC license from THQ happened in the days leading up to E3 and it only took six weeks for EA Sports to announce that the first iteration of the new series was already in the works at the EA Canada studio. While there is still a lot to learn about the plans for the EA Sports UFC the first piece of news - that the team behind the Fight Night series is developing it - prompted considerably mixed reaction from fans.     EA Sports today rolled out complete details on GM Connected mode in NHL 13. The new mode was initially outlined prior to E3 and in doing so actually spoiled the Connected Careers announcement that came days later for Madden NFL 13 which shares some base elements.   • The Hobbit May Be Stretched Into Trilogy

    Reports are now surfacing that Peter Jackson has decided he would like The Hobbit to be three films instead of two. Until now the plans have been for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to release on December 14, 2012 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again on December 13, 2013. Now Jackson and Warner Bros. are investigating how to go about making it a trilogy instead. Check out The Hollywood Reporter for more on the story....
