    Following the comprehensive impressions on gameplay and presentation and as a Coach in Connected Careers mode work continues towards putting other pieces together in the coming days for Madden NFL 13.     The new Connected Careers mode for Madden NFL 13 - which encompasses what used to be Franchise and Superstar modes - is so large in scope that even EA Sports has struggled to communicate what it represents. Essentially both modes are now housed in the same area and have all the same features while also being enabled as online leagues.     With Madden NFL 13 the series is coming off a generally well received iteration but one in which still didn't meet the expectations of many. Several core improvements have been made to gameplay - including the highly anticipated "Infinity Engine" physics - which may do enough to change the perception of stagnation built over this generation.     Loading times for the Madden NFL series have always been lengthy - though not nearly to the extent some other sports titles such as NCAA Football and MLB: The Show have been plagued by.     Subscribers to the EA Sports Season Ticket program can now access the early release digital download of Madden NFL 13 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3. The digital copy of Madden 13 will expire early Tuesday (6am ET) after which a retail copy will have to be purchased. All game saves and achievements will transfer over.     Early this week EA Sports revealed the top rated players on defense. Given that the entirety of defense was lumped in together it amounted to only those individuals rated 97 and above. Though they didn’t crack the top 10 Terrell Suggs and Jason Pierre-Paul are right on the cusp of doing so. Rookies include both Morris Claiborne and Luke Kuechly at 81 and Mark Barron at 80.
