  • Assessing the Fallout from MLB 2K13

MLB 2K13's release last week turned out to be an embarrassing attempt at swindling consumers into paying $60 for a year old product. No yearly licensed sports title has ever unabashedly embodied being "just a roster update" and in doing so justified the cliched criticism often directed by the uninformed at the genre. The game is actually worse than that though as it contains even less content than last year with the sneaking out of online leagues and it isn't be expected to receive much if a...

It's been a big 24 hours of free agency signings and trade announcements. While teams have somewhat reigned in the outrageous spending of year's past - there has been no Mario Williams type deal handed out - some of the most high profile names remain available. Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Jake Long, Wes Welker, and Greg Jennings are still out there. The Ravens had a rough day losing Dannell Ellerbe, who they had hope to re-sign, while letting go of Anquan Boldin and Paul Kruger. Combined w...

As a series MLB: The Show has been the most consistent of all the yearly sports representations this generation. Consumers have come to rely on exceptional baseball authenticity, realistic gameplay, fantastic graphics, and deep franchise and career modes to invest time with. What has been missing though is sense of accessibility and an acceptable online experience. Those aspects however are no longer holding the franchise back. MLB 13: The Show is the iteration that pulled everything t...

A new roster update for NBA 2K13 arrived today. Following an uneventful one last week, that only injured Tony Parker and added Juwan Howard to the Heat, the latest update moves Aaron Brooks to the Rockets and has a number of injury changes. Those include Kyrie Irving and Amare Stoudemire being inactivated while Mo Williams, Jameer Nelson, and Andrew Bogut return to action. The update also adds the Jordan XX8 shoes to the game....

The national nightmare that has been the process to determine the cover of NCAA Football 14 has finally ended. After nearly three months and involving all 126 FBS schools Denard Robinson, representing the Michigan Wolverines, has captured the cover. He held the lead in the finals over Texas A&M's Ryan Swope throughout until voter fraud became evident when the numbers dramatically shifted in the final hours. Both sides cheated forcing EA Sports to go back through the numbers and eliminate...
