In a surprise move yesterday Amazon added a $10 promo credit to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 copies of Madden NFL 25 (excluding the Anniversary Edition) for both ongoing sales and consumers who pre-ordered. Elsewhere NewEgg via Ebay had copies going for $45 but their supply was run through fairly quickly. Costco meanwhile is selling the game for $55. As was the case with NCAA Football 14 it's likely some retailers will drop the price temporarily on Madden even lower within the next week or two...

2K Sports today released the first trailer for the current-gen version of NBA 2K14. The trailer makes no mention new features or improvements - it's the standard flashy highlight reel - but does provide the chance to see some players for the first time with their new teams.  (more…)...

The first roster update for Madden NFL 25 arrived today with its main purpose to execute personnel moves, shuffle the depth charts, and reflect injuries since the original set was locked down about six weeks ago. An even bigger update will come mid-late next week after teams trim down to their final 53 man rosters this coming weekend.  (more…)...

It's officially launch day for Madden NFL 25 - though the Season Ticket release has taken some wind out of the yearly "big event" sails - and response to the game has been all over the board. My full impressions and run-through of Franchise mode attempted to paint a picture of the experience the game provides through nearly 30 hours of playing. A Press Row Hangout with Rich Grisham, who's somewhat more positive on the game, was recorded to discuss it from all angles at even greater length. ...

Madden NFL 25 released today for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad while Android will have to wait until later in the year. It represents EA's first attempt at a free-to-play sports game on mobile that will be driven by microtransactions instead of the up-front price. The game has been available on the Canadian market since last week where has received somewhat unfavorable reviews due in part to that structure. Features for Madden NFL 25 include Ultimate Team, solo challenges for the team to p...

The first opportunity to see next-gen FIFA 14 in action came with Gamescom last week. The game was running on the Xbox One, considering the partnership between EA and Microsoft those type of arrangements will be the norm in coming years, and a number of off-screen videos were captured. Though never the best way to evaluate a game they do offer a chance to assess the graphics, some of the new tech behind the Ignite Engine, and in general how the games flow. Continue on to check out the videos...
