    Along with the official announcement of MLB 14: The Show and cover athlete Miguel Cabrera SCEA slipped in the declaration that the PS4 game is "the first and only MLB simulation for next-gen consoles" which confirms widespread speculation that the Xbox One will not have a baseball game to offer next spring.     SCEA today officially announced MLB 14: The Show which will debut on the PS4 in March along with PS3 and PS Vita versions. The news was accompanied by the reveal of Miguel Cabrera as cover athlete at the MLB Player's Choice Awards. He was selected for the honor by the players themselves.   • EA Sports UFC Cover Goes to Jon Jones; Will Share With One Other Fighter

    Plans for a cover vote to determine the fighter that would grace the cover of EA Sports UFC were scrapped at some point since June and today the company announced that Jon Jones has been selected for the honor. Jones is currently the light heavyweight champion and has defended that title successfully six times.     EA Sports today released more on the controls for NBA Live 14, performing the signature style dribbling moves for various players, and the depth of coaching styles and strategies. It's all very good information that is impressive in the depth it will provide users but without showing everything in context of an actual game, and continuing to hold back looks at extended unedited footage, will likely continue to ring hollow for most.  (more…)...

    With only a matter of weeks until release of the PS4 and Xbox One much remains a mystery surrounding the four sports titles arriving along with them.     In the quarterly financial call this week Andrew Wilson, the new CEO of Electronic Arts, announced that 2014 FIFA World Cup is currently in development. That comes as no surprise but acts as the first time the company has made any reference to the upcoming game which is expected out next spring.
