  • Checking in on The Show Live Mode in MLB 15: The Show

The Show Live in MLB 15 is not a new mode - it was introduced in MLB 13 - but it's something that changes by the day. The concept is to offer up the current day's slate of games (and those from earlier in the season) to play utilizing accurate lineups. There are also meant to be lines from the announcers during the games referencing their place in the season. The mode has worked fairly well in the past outside of a few quirks and inaccuracies and that's the case again this year. ...

It's the first time a significant discount on the game has been offered by Microsoft. There was a deal on the PS4 for $21 back in December. This week's Press Row Podcast features expansive panel discussion on MLB 15: The Show with the game having been out for over a week. This is one of the rare shows I'm absent from, but for my thoughts on the game don't miss the Hits & Misses Review and the podcast from last week which included both live impression hangouts. The new podcast is a great listen to get additional perspectives on all aspects of MLB 15 and the game as a whole. Check out the podcast through iTunes for iOSÂ...

The second edition of the mobile game Tap Sports Baseball just released and an Easter egg in the game has revealed a football version is on the way. On the outfield wall in Tap Sports Baseball 2015 is an advertisement for Tap Sports Football. Before turning to TSB the developers behind the game made Your Turn Football in 2013. It was a great game, particularly for a first attempt, with the design principles that made it so good being carried over to the baseball efforts. Areas in wh...
  • NHL 15 Now Available in EA Access Vault

    Posted April 9th, 2015 at 11:15 am 13 Comments »
NHL 15 is now available in the EA Access "Vault" bringing the total number of titles now to 10. It's surprising only in its timing, as the most reasonable expectation was for it to go in once the season concluded. NHL joins Madden NFL 15, NBA Live 15, and EA Sports UFC as games added to Access in the last four months. FIFA 15 then it would reason could be coming as early as next month. The value of Access just keeps on rising. The EA Access service is currently exclusive to Xbox On...

by Brendan Wilhide MLB Manager 2015 is the latest version of the popular iOOTP series of text-based manangement sims. The new name reflects the fact that the series has an official full MLB license for the first time in the game's history. The new license is a welcome addition to what has become a solid portable version of its more illustrious desktop counterpart, Out of the Park Baseball, and fans will welcome the new license atop an already familiar and strong feature set. Longtime fan...
  • Looking Ahead to MLB 15 Roster Updates

    Posted April 8th, 2015 at 8:00 pm 3 Comments »
New roster updates are released by SCEA for The Show every Monday over the course of the season. With MLB 15: The Show the roster update to prepare for the new season coincided with the release of the game and there hasn't been one since given the proximity to Opening Day. The first in-season update is expected on April 13 and that will be an important one. It's the first opportunity to add any players who made their Major League debuts. As an annual reminder, players who have no...
