Though there are a number of compelling series in the first round of the NBA Playoffs not many observers are anticipating upsets to take place. To get an idea for what is to come from another angle I turned to NBA 2K15 to simulate the entirety of the first round. An extensive amount of time was spent having the CPU play the CPU for every game in each series while utilizing the latest updated rosters. Based on the sim only one series will go seven games and that's the 4v5 in the Eastern Co...
  • Madden NFL 16 Release Set for August 25

Today EA Sports announced an official release date for Madden NFL 16 of August 25. That date doesn't come as any sort of surprise given how the game has gone out on the last Tuesday of August now since Madden NFL 12. The logo image that EA utilized for the announcement appears to be Madden 15's with a 6 drawn on top of the 5. There's an easy joke to be made there. The NFL season does begin a bit later this year than normal with the kick-off game on September 10 and opening Sunday fa...

One question posed by many people over recent weeks relates to why nothing yet has come out on Madden NFL 16. A precedent of early news on the game accompanied by the official announcement in the March-April stretch had been set over the years. In the case of Madden NFL 15 though things took a significant shift back in particular with the start of the cover vote and that's likely a similar schedule they'll be adhering to with Madden 16. The fan vote for the representative to appear ...
  • Your Thoughts on MLB 15: The Show After Two Weeks of Release

Those who picked up MLB 15: The Show at or around release have now had plenty of time to settle in with the game and form opinions. For the most part the game is being received well by consumers and to an extent reviewers (check out my review here) however its Metacritic score is the lowest for the series since MLB 07 (the first one on PS3) which suggests something more is being desired from the product than it is delivering. Vote in the poll and include any thoughts in the comments. H...
  • Tap Sports Baseball 2015 Review

The original Tap Sports Baseball, released last August, was undoubtedly one of the best sports games for mobile devices last year. It was a strong effort at launch with a (somewhat uncommon now) friendly monetization structure that was improved upon through several significant updates as the months wore on. The sequel released last week and it retains everything that made the first so great while introducing some minor improvements on top. Tap Sports Baseball 2015 is a turn-based game ...

Though online play performance is markedly better in MLB 15: The Show than previous years of the series its unreliable nature has still been cited in early days as a big problem. That remains the case but now a couple bugs and exploits have been identified that are making games against random opponents miserable to play. (more…)...
