Insight Into Plot for Kick-Ass Sequel
No question my favorite movie of the year so far and certainly amongst my favorites of all time Kick-Ass arrived on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Mark Millar, writer of the comic book that the film was based on, is currently working on the upcoming sequel in comic form Kick-Ass: Balls to the Wall. Millar talked to MovieWeb about the sequel and dropped some hints as to the plot for some of the central characters with the comic being completed by the end of the year and the movie aiming for a 2012 ...
Early Rumors of Kick-Ass Sequel
I've made no secret of my love for Kick-Ass but its performance at the box office has been somewhat disappointing. It didn't turn out to be a huge hit that some, including Lionsgate, had been hoping for. That being said it is already profitable and cruising to a respectable take. It cost just $30 million to make and has pulled in a worldwide total that is currently at $73 million. Its prospects on DVD are also encouraging.

Kick-Ass Narrowly Wins at the Box Office
Kick-Ass was able to scrape by How to Train Your Dragon for the top spot at the box office this weekend. The comic book adaptation pulled in just under $20 million, beating out Dragon by just $200K. The internal multiplier (Friday vs the weekend total) for Kick-Ass was 2.64 which is encouraging for a movie of this nature and show...

Both should do well, with Kick-Ass having an extremely strong long term prognosis and the potential to be a breakout hit.
Opening to high levels of anticipation is the comic book adaptation Kick-Ass. Having seen the movie almost six weeks ago it h...

Review: Kick-Ass
As most every movie fan can attest to there are times when high levels of anticipation can lead to eventual disappointment. Having read all the great early buzz for Kick-Ass I entered with the concern that this would be the case here. Those high expectations though turned out to be far exceeded. Kick-Ass is a fantastic blend of a comic book vibe with heavy action and explicit violence, plenty of laughs, and genuine emotional pull.
