  • NBA 2K11 Creating a Legend Impressions

With the ability to unlock Creating a Legend in NBA 2K11 without having completed all of the Jordan Challenges I have focused my time since on the mode. Creating a Legend is essentially just My Player mode using a rookie Michael Jordan but for several reasons I'm finding this mode much more enjoyable than the latter. (more…)...
  • Early NBA 2K11 Observations

While I continue to collect thoughts on NBA 2K11, with plans to post full impressions on Monday, I thought I'd lay out some things worth noting early on. Outside of issues with online play and My Player mode the response to the game has been overwhelmingly positive. That is in stark contrast to how the game released last year and a testament to how much work has gone into gameplay while still adding a great deal of content. 2K11 shows that yearly sports titles don't have to sacrifice in one ar...
  • NBA 2K11 Jordan Challenge Impressions

The Michael Jordan mode most heavily marketed in NBA 2K11 is the "Jordan Challenge" which presents a set of 10 different scenarios to complete based on many of the biggest moments in his career. I went into the mode uncertain of whether it would be something that I'd continue playing past making a few, likely futile, attempts. Despite some initial frustrations it has almost an addictive quality to it and I am enjoying it much more than anticipated. (more…)...

Love it or hate it the demo for NBA Elite 11 provides plenty of content to gauge the game on by including regular gameplay, career mode gameplay, and the tutorials and practice gym. Anyone on the fence or at all curious about Elite gets the opportunity to try it out and judge it. This is a game that has gone through a major revamp and is trying to present something new and fresh. The effort to do so can be appreciated but what really matters is whether the game is a good representation of the ...
  • NBA Jam HD Impressions and Videos

A month ago EA Sports announced that NBA Jam would be coming to the 360 and PS3. The catch though is that it would be only available to download through a code that is being included in new copies of NBA Elite 11. The arcade market has been dry ever since EA and Midway ended Street and Ballers respectively, and here EA is bringing back a classic in what is better described as a "refresh" than a "reboot". The first opportunity for the media and public to play NBA Jam HD came with it out on t...
  • Madden NFL Superstars Impressions

Madden NFL Superstars launched earlier this week on Facebook. The free-to-play management sim is supported by microtransactions and follows a similarly structured FIFA Superstars that arrived earlier this summer to big success. After spending a few days with Madden Superstars my full thoughts on it follow, though as is the case with a game of this nature I can only report on the experience so far as there is no reachable end game. My impressions are based on not having spent any money on th...

By Corey Andress Being Canadian I can tell you first hand that there are certain things expected of us. We have to be overly nice (not really true), like bacon (very true), say things completely wrong (about, eh?!), and most of all - love hockey. Now I’ll admit up front that I’m a much bigger fan of the NBA or NFL, but hockey is religion to us Canadians. Even if there are some of us that hate it, when our team plays on a national level the whole country stops. With that...

With Madden 11 out for two weeks now and having let some of my initial feelings settle with additional play-time I thought it would be interesting to isolate some of the accomplishments in the game along with some areas that it whiffed on. I've listed out what I perceive to be the top five hits and top five misses for Madden 11. In addition to this make sure to check out my full impressions and online impressions which present more comprehensive reports on the game. Continue on to check out th...
