Guardians of the Galaxy Shatters August Box Office Record
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was expected to challenge for the highest opening weekend in August box office history but it blew right past 2007's Bourne Ultimatum which pulled in $69 million. Guardians finished the weekend with an estimated $94 million. Guardians of the Galaxy isn't even out yet but plans are in motion for the sequel. Marvel has slotted it into their July 28, 2017 date which is one of nine they've planted their flag on all the way into 2019.
