There are a handful of decent Blu-ray movies releasing this week. I thought The Ugly Truth was a pretty good movie. I'm not a big fan of Katherine Heigl but Gerard Butler did a great job in the movie. It was quite a change from seeing him play King Leonidas in 300. This week isn't a bad week for releases compared to the last few weeks. The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 was a pretty decent movie. The storyline was a bit far fetched at times, but overall it was an enjoyable movie. Also hitting stores is Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut. It seems to be another quiet week for DVD and Blu-ray releases. The only movie I'd probably pick up is the Blu-ray version of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. This might be my favorite Christmas movie, and is definitely my favorite of all the 'Vacation' movies. The big movie hitting stores this week is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The Michael Bay blockbuster is loaded with extras on Blu-Ray, so you'll definitely get your money's worth. After a couple of weeks of bad releases, this week seems to be a little better. There aren't any blockbusters hitting stores, but one film I enjoyed was Drag Me To Hell. Directed by Sam Raimi, the surprising horror movie is the perfect film for October with Halloween right around the corner. This one may actually be worth a purchase and definitely worth a rental. It looks like another slow week for movie releases. Nothing on the list seems to be worth a DVD or Blu-ray purchase. I did get a chance to see Away We go.
