New on DVD: Week of May 3
This is one of the least impressive weeks for releases that I can remember. Nothing is very appealing, unless you're a fan of 'Batman'. All the 'Batman' films pre Batman Begins will be released on Blu-ray. The only two I'd consider buying though are Batman and Batman Returns. The others I'd like to just forget they were ever made, let alone watch them in hi-def. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

New on DVD: Week of April 26
A handful of solid movies releasing this week. I had the chance to see It's Complicated and thought it was fairly entertaining. The romantic comedy scored well in reviews and received a 'fresh rating' on Rottentomatoes.com Also releasing is the fantasy film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. As some might remember, this was the last feature film Heath Ledger appeared in before his untimely death. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

New on DVD: Week of April 12
This is a very slow week for movie releases. There aren't many 'must buys' out there. I did get the chance to see The Slammin' Salmon and I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. You either will love this movie, or hate it. A quick look at the reviews will prove it. For example, IMDB.com users rated it a 6.9/10, which isn't bad. But Rottentomatoes.com gave this movie a 39%, making it 'rotten'. The comedy centers around a retired boxer's (Michael Clark Duncan) restaurant and it's staff. If...
New on DVD: Week of April 5
One of the biggest film franchises is hitting stores this week in High-Def. The Lord of the Rings trilogy will be released on Blu-ray, and you can bet this will be a hot seller. I was surprised to see Cocoon being released on Blu-ray. I'm not sure why someone would want to see this one in hi-def, but to each their own. New on DVD: Week of March 29
After a solid week of movie releases, this one doesn't seem so good. The big movie hitting stores is Sherlock Holmes. The film, which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jud Law, scored a 69% 'Fresh Rating' on Rottentomatoes.com. Also worth noting is the release of The Baader Meinhof Complex. The film was rated pretty high by critics, even though it was never really popular and only grossed $296,294 at the box office. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

New on DVD: Week of March 22
This is a pretty big week for releases compared to weeks past. The Blind Side is probably the biggest name hitting store shelves. The Oscar buzz should help in making it a popular purchase. Other notable releases include Brothers and two George Clooney films, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Men Who Stare at Goats. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

New on DVD: Week of March 15
There isn't much releasing this week compared to weeks past, but there are some movies that are definitely worth checking out. One film that will surely sell well is Disney's The Princess and the Frog. You can bet we'll see this this at the top of the DVD sales when the results release next week. It did well in reviews and scored an '85% Fresh Rating' on Rottentomatoes.com . If you want action, Ninja Assassin will be hitting stores as well. Don't ask me what I was thinking, but I actually wa...
New on DVD: Week of March 8
This is a solid week for movie releases. The big name hitting store shelves is George Clooney's Up in the Air. The movie scored a 90% 'fresh rating' on Rottentomatoes.com and I don't think I've heard anyone say a bad thing about the film. Other notables releases include The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day and The Fourth Kind. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:
