It's a highly anticipated week of releases as Star Wars finally makes it to Blu-ray alongside one of the hits of the summer movie season Thor. There are also a number of television seasons for series with devoted fan bases. This week of DVD and Blu-ray releases brings one of the best films of the summer in X-Men: First Class. There are also a couple of the best comedies on TV and one of the best dramas with Community, The Office and Fringe. I can confidently recommend all of those as potential purchases. Though lacking a high profile release this week there are a number of intriguing options coming to DVD and Blu-ray. The Beaver was well received but the controversy around Mel Gibson led to the film never getting a wide theatrical release. After last week was seemingly all about comedies this week brings some more serious DVD/Blu-ray releases. The best reviewed are Jane Eyre and The Conspirator which both played only on a limited number of screens when in theaters.
