DVD/Blu-ray for Week of December 6th
A number of high profile releases arrive on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Cowboys & Aliens and Mr. Popper's Penguins somewhat disappointed at the box office, The Help and The Hangover Part II were smash hits, and The Debt fell somewhere in the middle. (more…)...
DVD/Blu-ray for Week of November 22nd
This week represents the final set of new DVD and Blu-ray releases heading into Black Friday. The group is led by the J.J. Abrams film Super 8, which is one of my favorites of the year, along with the box office bomb Conan the Barbarian. (more…)...
DVD/Blu-ray for Week of November 15th
This is one of the flattest weeks of DVD/Blu-ray releases in quite some time - maybe not coincidentally as it follows on the heels of the final chapter of Harry Potter having arriving in stores. The only major theatrical release was Larry Crowne which turned out to be a big disappointment. A number of re-releases though are in the mix as well. (more…)...
DVD/Blu-ray for Week of November 8th
This week of DVD/Blu-ray releases is headlined by the final entry in the Harry Potter franchise with Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The film earned over $1.3 billion worldwide and delivered a fantastic critical response with 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. With that one swallowing up all the attention other studios for the most part avoided releasing anything significant this week. The Change-Up is notable but mostly for having bombed in theaters.

DVD/Blu-ray for Week of November 1st
Though it was the least successful of any Pixar film Cars 2 went on to make nearly $200 million and leads the way in this week of releases. Crazy, Stupid, Love did well considering its budget - getting some great reviews along the way - and with Water for Elephants makes for two solid options for the more mature crowd.

DVD/Blu-ray Releases for Week of October 25th
Four really solid movie options release this week - and nothing of significance TV wise. The summer blockbuster Marvel's Captain America leads the way but the Jurassic Park Trilogy (for the first time on Blu-ray) is going to intrigue many. Attack the Block was able to garner brilliant reviews and audience response but didn't gain much traction in theaters while Winnie the Pooh will hold appeal for families. (more…)...
DVD/Blu-ray Releases for Week of October 18th
There's a little bit of everything releasing on DVD/Blu-ray this week - headlined by the worldwide smash hit (though less so in the US) with the fourth entry in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. There is also the raunchy R rated comedy Bad Teacher, Kevin Smith's uniquely distributed horror film Red State, and the kids/teen focused Monte Carlo. The animated Batman: Year One (which is getting some really good reviews) debuts along with classics The Goonies and The Crow getting their firs...
DVD/Blu-ray Releases for Week of October 11th
This week's group of DVD/Blu-ray releases are an uninspired bunch - with the biggest one Green Lantern having been a bomb at the box office while the comedies and The Tree of Life generated starkly split reaction amongst audiences. (more…)...
