NBA Playgrounds 2 will now be published by 2K Sports
When NBA Playgrounds 2 was delayed just five days before it was set to release back in May, one of the most plausible theories was that developer Saber Interactive was being acquired by Take Two/2K Sports. Two months passed without a single word from the team behind the game which made it likely that the silence was due to some form of private discussions taking place. Today we found out that the reality is along those lines as the arcade series is now going to be published by 2K Sports and rebranded as NBA 2K Playgrounds 2. Read more

Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 Demo Details
Konami is getting a big jump on EA Sports this year by releasing PES 2019 a full month ahead of FIFA 19, and its demo will put the game in limited form in the hands of consumers three weeks even prior to that. Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and also this year PC will get the free demo Wednesday, August 8.
Featured in the demo are 12 clubs with modes that include online Quick Match and offline exhibition. Pro Evolution Soccer will release Tuesday, August 28 which is several weeks earlier than its traditional landing dates which have fallen in mid-September.

The focus on collision physics in NHL 19
EA Sports laid out the features for NHL 19 a month ago now, including the debut of the Real Player Motion animation system, a 1v1v1 mode called NHL ONES, and outdoor rinks. Today the publisher offered additional details on work done to gameplay, specifically that of the improvements that have been made to the collision physics. Read more

Another big offseason transaction went down today for NBA 2K19
The offseason focus in the NBA has primarily been centered on LeBron James’ decision to go to the Los Angeles Lakers and DeMarcus Cousins deciding to join up with the Champion Golden State Warriors and rightfully so. Simulations in NBA 2K18 have shown that Cousins could help make the 2018-19 Warriors the greatest team of all-time, while LeBron will have his work cut out for him dragging the Lakers to a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference.
Today a third major transaction went down when the San Antonio Spurs sent disgruntled superstar Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors for All-Star DeMar DeRozan. It’s the rare trade where all parties seem dissatisfied in some respects, particularly the players who had a certain desired destination (Leonard) or didn’t want to leave the city (DeRozan).
It’s also fairly rare for players of their caliber get traded. Leonard is the fifth highest rated player in NBA 2K. He stayed on his 95 Overall Rating last season given that he was on the sidelines for most of it. Only LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and James Harden are rated higher. DeRozan at an 89 Overall is only behind Harden at the shooting guard position.
For the Spurs DeRozan will represent a net gain, at least compared to last season when the team was able to win 47 games and make the playoffs despite Leonard having appeared in only 9 games due to injury. The bigger question is for Toronto, where there’s some uncertainty over whether Leonard will even suit up for the team or put forth full effort for a full season given the way the last one went down in San Antonio.
