EA Sports has now completed the reveal of cover candidates for the eight schools remaining in the NCAA Football 14 campaign. Joining Denard Robinson, Eddie Lacy, John Simon, and Jarvis Jones are E.J. Manuel (Florida State), Kenjon Barner (Oregon), Ryan Swope (Texas A&M), and Tyler Eifert (Notre Dame).
Voting on the individual athletes will begin on Monday and presumably those totals will be added into the program specific poll that has been up and running for over a week now. The four with the most votes – which looks likely to be Michigan, Alabama, Oregon, and Texas A&M – will move on to the next round.
A new developer video blog has released for MLB 13: The Show detailing the changes made to the improve the hitting experience. Given the somewhat punishing nature, and resulting frustration, things have eased up this year with widened timing windows. Beginner mode is an option for novices while the push-pull hitting trajectories will bring tendencies more into play. Also of note is an array of new batting cameras, reduced number of ground rule doubles, wider range of fielding skill for players, and the wind having less effect on the traveling ball. Read more

The Press Row Podcast has been rolling along for 11 episodes and now comes an attempted spin-off with the Press Row Hangout. Broadcasting live, and then archived to Youtube, this is something that could become a regular feature or end up more for special events or discussions.
In the premiere Richard Grisham from GamesRadar and I recap the awards season going game-by-game and then respond to some viewer mail regarding the pending lawsuit against the NCAA, CLC, and EA Sports and what that could mean to the future of the NCAA Football series.
It was first discussed last week that the silhouettes in the graphic released by EA Sports appeared to be of the as-yet-to-be-named cover athlete candidates for NCAA Football 14. That has proven to be the case as the company has revealed the first names from the bunch and as expected Denard Robinson is Michigan’s representative while Alabama’s is Eddie Lacy. John Simon gets what looks to be the short-lived role for Ohio State.
Others anticipated to be named then include Jarvis Jones for Georgia, Tyler Eifert for Notre Dame, and Kenjon Barner for Oregon. Florida State and Texas A&M (either Luke Joeckel or Damontre Moore) are somewhat more difficult to distinguish. (Update) Jarvis Jones now confirmed.
Though it still hasn’t been clarified it would seem that the individual athlete voting will represent the secondary data that will factor into which four programs/players move on to the next round. As it stands now Michigan, Alabama, Texas A&M and Oregon are in good shape to move on but a compelling individual player could turn the tide for one of the other schools – the problem is there really aren’t any of that nature that could be involved now. All of the cover candidates will be known by Monday which is when the voting on them will begin.
A new roster update for NBA 2K13 arrived this morning on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The update ends the span of a few weeks where no ratings changes had been made. Though there are only a handful at least the Lakers take a long overdue hit as Dwight Howard and Steve Nash fall.
The update also affects the injury status of a number of players including Rajon Rondo who is done for the year and Chris Paul who will have missed five straight games after tonight with no clear expectation for when he will return. Alvin Gentry remains on the sidelines for the Phoenix Suns despite being replaced nearly two weeks ago by Lindsey Hunter. The All-Star reserves have also been set after establishing the starters in a prior update.
Ratings Up: Jrue Holiday (+1 to 88), Kyrie Irving (+3 to 88), Alan Anderson (+4 to 70), Terrence Ross (+1 to 71), Tiago Splitter (+6 to 70)
Ratings Down: Dwight Howard (-3 to 89), Steve Nash (-2 to 83), Jerry Stackhouse (-2 to 67)
Injury Status: Daniel Gibson (-5 to 60), Rajon Rondo (-33 to 56), Chris Paul (-12 to 82), Steve Blake (returns to 68), Royce White (returns to 68), Andrew Bogut (returns to 79)
