A new roster update for NBA 2K13 arrived today. Following an uneventful one last week, that only injured Tony Parker and added Juwan Howard to the Heat, the latest update moves Aaron Brooks to the Rockets and has a number of injury changes. Those include Kyrie Irving and Amare Stoudemire being inactivated while Mo Williams, Jameer Nelson, and Andrew Bogut return to action. The update also adds the Jordan XX8 shoes to the game.
The national nightmare that has been the process to determine the cover of NCAA Football 14 has finally ended. After nearly three months and involving all 126 FBS schools Denard Robinson, representing the Michigan Wolverines, has captured the cover. He held the lead in the finals over Texas A&M’s Ryan Swope throughout until voter fraud became evident when the numbers dramatically shifted in the final hours. Both sides cheated forcing EA Sports to go back through the numbers and eliminate all the votes which came from fake accounts.
Robinson becomes the third player from Michigan to grace the cover of the series. He joins Charles Woodson (NCAA Football 99) and Desmond Howard (NCAA Football 06). Now that the cover voting is out of the way actual news relating to the game could be coming soon. The first info for NCAA has traditionally arrived in mid-March.
The voting campaign for the cover of Madden NFL 25 has now gone live. The tournament features two separate brackets with legends on one side and current stars on the other. The winner of each bracket will then go head-to-head for the honor.
Some of the names in the running include former Madden cover athletes Ray Lewis, Marshall Faulk, and Eddie George along with notables such as Joe Montana, Deion Sanders, Barry Sanders, Dan Marino, and Randall Cunningham. On the side of the current players are number one seeds Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III, Adrian Peterson and Andrew Luck snag two seeds, and Russell Wilson enters as a three seed.
Get your votes in for the first round through the official Madden NFL 25 SportsNation page. The deadline to cast votes before advancing to the next round is March 20.
Percy Harvin is on the move to the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange for their first round pick (#25), a seventh rounder, and a conditional fourth rounder in 2014 the dynamic offensive weapon is joining a team that clicked in all facets on offense in the second half of the season giving Russell Wilson another weapon at his disposal. The Minnesota Vikings are now barren at wide receiver so expect them to make moves there as free agency opens as well as in the draft. They now will have the 23rd and 25th picks in the first round. Read more

Online play has forever been the Achilles’ heel of the MLB: The Show series representing the worst sports gaming has had to offer in that area. When NBA 2K made strides last year it left The Show as the only sports franchise that was not providing an acceptable online experience. Regardless of the reasons why, online performance was typically awful, and the games were simply not fun to play due to the advantage held by the pitchers.
Based on the days following release of MLB 13: The Show it has become clear that exceptional progress has been made. There are four primary reasons for the vastly improved online experience beyond just the seemingly more stable and consistent performance. Read more

Last week an NFLPA representative shed some light on how the exclusive league license for video games is viewed. They consider their relationship with EA Sports strong and ultimately the job of the Player’s Association is to protect the members and bring in as much money for them as possible. Considering the established history with EA, and the amount of control the NFL likes to exert regarding image, it displayed the picture of how the licensing is viewed as a whole. The NFL (not just NFLPA) wants exclusivity because it brings in more money and they can more directly help to shape the way they are perceived through their partners. Read more
